About Us 🚀

Bridgit is a leading non-bank lender transforming the way Australians access property equity. Purpose-built to make property transactions faster and easier, we pioneered the Buy Now, Sell Later solution – empowering homeowners to unlock their property equity and move on their terms. We’re now five years old and making huge strides. We have accredited over three-quarters of Australia’s broker network, and launched white label solutions with Australia’s largest aggregators – Connective, Aussie Home Loans, Finsure, and Loan Market Group – and we’re just getting started.

Our momentum has been recognised with awards such as Best Growth Story at the 2025 Fintech Awards, 2025 Finder People’s Choice Award for Lending Innovation, the finalist for Excellence in Lending (Business & Consumer) at the 2025 Finnies, Deloitte's tech fast 50 2025 and finally; being recognised as one of LinkedIn’s top 20 Start Up’s in Australia 2025.

The difference you’ll make

As the Service Desk Data Engineer, you will be the primary interface for business data requests, acting as the critical bridge between complex business needs and efficient data delivery. You will serve as the go-to expert for urgent, ad-hoc business inquiries, ensuring stakeholders get the insights they need exactly when they need them.

Beyond managing immediate requests, you will proactively transform manual processes into scalable, automated reports, reducing technical debt and driving a more self-service data culture across the enterprise.

What you’ll do:

  • Prioritise, manage, and fulfill incoming data requests via JIRA Service Desk to ensure timely support for business stakeholders.

  • Conduct deep-dive data investigation within source system databases to locate required datasets and identify optimal columns for extraction and transformation.

  • Uphold rigorous quality and governance standards by managing a delivery lifecycle where every request undergoes peer review and formal sign-off before release.

  • Perform trend analysis on service desk requests to identify patterns and proactively design automated reports that reduce future ad-hoc traffic.

  • Execute strategic development tasks, including building new data models, analytical insights, and reporting frameworks when not managing service desk flow.

  • Maintain technical excellence through high-performance SQL queries and data pipelines using modular code design and version control (Git).

What we're looking for:

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing and transformation.

  • Experience with cloud data platforms, specifically AWS and Databricks.

  • Proficiency with Git for version control and CI/CD processes.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder collaboration skills with a focus on requirement translation.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with Medallion architecture (Bronze–Silver–Gold).

  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT orchestration and data quality frameworks.
