About the Role:

Brooks Automation is a fast-paced technology company that works on the cutting edge of Semiconductor Robotics and Automation solutions. As we continue to push the capabilities of robotics inside of semiconductor fabs, we are looking for someone who is excited by both technology and manufacturing automation.

As the Senior Manufacturing Manager at our Greenfield site in Malaysia, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the production processes within our brand-new factory in Johor Bahru, with your key responsibilities encompassing managing resources, optimizing workflow efficiency, and ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and adhering to safety protocols.

You will coordinate with various departments such as production, logistics, and maintenance to streamline operations, resolve any issues that arise, and implement strategies for continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Manager is expected to serve as a leader, strategist, and problem-solver, driving the factory towards achieving its production goals while upholding quality and safety standards.

Work Location: This is an onsite role and requires the candidate to be based at our Johor Bahru site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products.

  • Develop systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products. Works closely with transition team on the implementation and development of new products coming to production.

  • Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs.

  • Develop both short term (1 year) and long term (3-5 year) manufacturing strategy

  • Own and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for department including safety, quality and productivity.

  • Leverage data analytics to identify, prioritize, and drive root cause corrective actions.

  • Monitor production inventory levels, analyze production data, and make decisions to optimize resource allocation and minimize waste.

  • Drive the manufacturing organization to maintain the highest quality standards, monitor operator performance, and optimize equipment usage to maximize production efficiency.

  • Work closely with manufacturing engineering to remove bottlenecks in production while implementing a strong culture of continuous improvement

  • Develops and implements continuous improvement ideas that drive efficiencies in production and ergonomic improvements.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related field is required with 10+ years of related work experience in a similar role

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Capital Equipment Manufacturing, preferably in the semiconductor industry or industrial robotics or a similar environment

  • Well-versed in manufacturing planning and execution for factory operations; experienced in implementing Statistical Process Controls (SPC).

  • Strong people management experience in leading a team of highly skilled engineers across all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, test, etc.)

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both shop floor settings and at executive reviews.

  • High energy with the desire to drive change and create a world class manufacturing operation.

  • Experience with managing multiple product lines at one time and familiarity with clean room procedures and equipment

  • Quality Control: Proven experience in quality control within an analytical laboratory setting.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
