Brooks is looking for a Customer Support Engineer who will act as the frontline element of the customer relationship for Brooks customers, being the key to ensure product line performance at relevant customer sites.

If you have a technical education along with practical work experience in the field of automated technology, a practical and self-driven approach, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ambition to progress within a global company, this could be the role for you!

What you’ll do.

  • Perform complex customer support activities involving the installation, SW / HW upgrades, repair and preventive maintenance of Brooks’ equipment and systems to ensure proper working order.
  • Trouble-shoot, isolate and resolve complex equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
  • Works under minimal supervision following established policies and procedures to ensure company and customer quality standards are met.
  • Interface with customers to ensure customer satisfaction with equipment and service levels, as well as participate in customer operational / status meetings.
  • Provides remote technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
  • Completes appropriate reporting to ensure traceability of Problem Statements, Resolutions Summaries and Corrective Actions. As well as ensuring accurate input to enable Escalation triggers and analysis of Product Non-Conformance trends and Utilization.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by conforming at all times to Brooks and customer’s work protocols and policies.
  • Candidate may be assigned to support a specific customer site, region, or Product, depending upon business needs.
  • Train Brooks and customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • May be required to work in a Clean Room environment wearing a full clean room suit according to customer requirements.

What you’ll bring.

  • Degree qualified, or Diploma in higher education within a Technical discipline.
  • Electromechanical skills and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (written, oral) using business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Fluent in English, German knowledge is a plus.
  • A natural problem solver with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of European service team.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and well organized; able to handle multiple tasks with a clear sense of ownership and priority.
  • Full Driving License and Valid passport are essential for this role for travel within EU and US for required training and customer support.
  • The job holder will be required periodically to travel internationally including, but not limited to, within Europe and United States of America.
