Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Inspector

Job Description

About the Role:

As an Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Inspector at our Greenfield manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, you will be responsible for monitoring the quality of raw materials and components before they enter the manufacturing process. This role is critical for ensuring consistent batch quality and reducing costs associated with post-production defects.

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, especially when sourcing products from third-party manufacturers or importing components from foreign countries. Your attention to detail and ability to oversee quality control processes will be essential in maintaining the integrity and reliability of our products.

Work Location: Onsite – Johor Bahru.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify the quality of incoming raw materials and components.
  • Conduct tests and assessments to ensure materials meet specified standards.
  • Document and report any quality issues or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality concerns.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections and test results.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide training and support to team members on quality control processes.
  • Monitor and analyze quality control data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure seamless integration of materials into the manufacturing process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned when required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Diploma or related tertiary studies in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance, preferably in the Semiconductor industry.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), and familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Experience with Oracle (Quality Management) or similar ERP systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent is advantageous.

Competencies:

  • Ability to meticulously inspect and verify the quality of incoming materials.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze quality control data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Some understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and materials preferred.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supplier quality engineers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing quality standards and procedures.
  • Strong focus on meeting customer requirements and ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.
