Production Supervisor

Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a driven and experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily operations in our new, state-of-the-art Semiconductor manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This role is critical in ensuring efficient production workflows, meeting high-quality standards, and supporting our commitment to excellence in a greenfield setting.

Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring processes run efficiently, safely, and align with quality standards.

Work Location: Onsite – Johor Bahru.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise production team, ensuring operations run smoothly and meet established output, quality and efficiency targets.

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production equipment.

  • Work closely with the Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams to ensure materials and resources are available and aligned with production schedules.

  • Maintain accurate production records, generate daily/weekly reports on key metrics, and ensure compliance with all industry regulations and company standards.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste while maintaining strict quality standards.

  • Monitor workflow, allocate resources, and optimize production schedules.

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards within the production area.

  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of production operators, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.

  • Complete annual assessments of team members in support of annual merit increases and performance reviews.

  • Track performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Well planned on optimizing manpower arrangement to meet production plan.

  • Keep track of manpower certifications and make sure the team are multi-tasking effectively.

  • Be a role model for leadership qualities such as discipline, attitude and responsibility.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant working experience with at least 3 years in a similar, supervisory role, ideally in a Semiconductor or related High-Tech manufacturing environment.

  • Solid understanding of Semiconductor manufacturing processes, including Cleanroom protocols, production scheduling, and quality control measures.

  • Experience with semiconductor fabrication equipment, automated production systems, and familiarity with tool maintenance and calibration.

  • Knowledge of quality control methodologies, including SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) and familiarity with production tracking software and MS Office for reporting and data analysis.

  • Demonstrated success in team leadership, conflict resolution, and performance management.
