Senior Manager, Business Process Excellence - Manufacturing Operations and QualityJob Description

Brooks – Laboratory Automation Solutions, specialise in the design and manufacture of compact, innovative benchtop automation for optimising pre- and post-analytical workflows in pathology and analytical laboratories, and has installations worldwide.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Business Process Excellence, to lead initiatives that drive operational improvements and strategic growth within our manufacturing operations, Finance, Service and quality functions. This role will focus on enhancing manufacturing capabilities, scaling operations, and optimizing quality processes to support high growth and increase. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in continuous improvement, change management, quality management, and manufacturing operations, particularly within ISO13485-regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive Business Process Excellence:
Lead initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, quality, and scalability within manufacturing. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to support sustainable growth aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
2. Lead Strategic Growth Projects:
Oversee key projects within manufacturing and quality operations that enable the company to increase manufacturing volume, handle higher complexity, and prepare for an ambitious growth trajectory.
3. ERP System Implementation Preparation (BPE):
Coordinate a major business process improvement project in partnership with the global business process excellence team, business process owners, subject matter experts, and external consultants. The initiative will elevate Brooks to best-in-class performance while fostering growth and scalability. BPE will enhance efficiency and effectiveness across all key business processes and upskill our employees, equipping them with top-tier process knowledge and practices. The role will be accountable for the business integration activities which include the development of a clear understanding of upcoming business processes and the transition impact from the current way to working, lead the change management effort and execute business actions to ensure that the processes are adopted and deployed in the most efficient and effective way.
4. PLM Platform Implementation and Compliance:
Manage the rollout of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform, ensuring full compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) under ISO13485 standards. Collaborate with the global PLM team, Quality and R&D to ensure the platform supports ongoing quality metrics and improvement goals.
5. Continuous Improvement and Efficiency:
Partner with Quality, R&D, and other cross-functional teams to identify process efficiencies needed to scale the business while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with QMS requirements.
6. Leadership and Team Collaboration:
Develop a deep understanding of the complexities of our manufacturing and quality operations. Support leadership in strategic decision-making and drive process improvement projects through effective collaboration and influence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on business process improvement and quality within a regulated, complex manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience with ISO13485 quality systems and Quality Management System (QMS) implementation and management.
Proven ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams, including experience with ERP and PLM systems in a manufacturing context.
Experience in business transformation, change management and project management.
Strong communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and clearly convey project progress, risks, and solutions.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and a commitment to driving projects to successful, on-time completion.
