We are looking for a leader for the Operations Finance and Cost Accounting function to help accelerate our growth journey.
The Sr Director of Operations Finance is accountable and responsible for Cost Accounting and Finance support for Global Operations including, but not limited to, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of standard cost records, planning and forecasting and decision support for manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and logistics organizations, enhance the accuracy of the Company's reported product costs and operational financial results, and oversee a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and safeguard assets. This unique business-facing opportunity within the Finance function integrates leadership, operational excellence, accounting, and technology to impact transformational initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and inventory. This role will oversee a small cost accounting team and requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, drive deadlines, and identify creative solutions, and the right candidate will be collaborative, enthusiastic, and customer-service-centric.
What you will do:
Cost Accounting & Controls Leadership - lead process excellence in the following Company financial processes:
- Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing and managing internal controls and checks across all departments
- Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities: inventory integrity, cost accounting, and reserves
- Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records.
- Custodian of the Company’s standard costing system
- Oversee and support the Company’s cycle counting and physical inventory programs
Business Partnership - provide direct support to the Operations leadership
- Lead the financial and product cost planning processes for the annual plan and monthly forecasts
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate special projects, programs, product costing, etc., when necessary
- Design and deliver robust management reporting, analysis, and decision support models
- Provide leadership to future Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations, and M&A integrations related to cost accounting
- Ensure the department provides the highest level of customer service both internally and externally
Global Process Leadership - for cost accounting
- Drive operational excellence and strategic initiatives with direct and indirect teams
- Ensure talent engagement, development and competence of team members
- Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance, creating a well-respected and sought-after department.
- Thought leader in designing controls, analytics, and decision support models; implement with cost accounting resources across the globe
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; Master's preferred, CPA or CMA a plus
- Twelve plus years' experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience with competency demonstrated in cost accounting and operational planning
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a leadership capacity.
- Understanding of data structure and data analytics along with the ability to work with business units and IS/IT to ensure adequate design of systems and reporting needs
- ERP systems experience, Oracle preferred
