Senior Manager Facilities OperationsJob Description
Position Summary: Brooks is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Facilities Operations, to lead our Chelmsford MA operations. The successful candidate will provide strategic and on-site, day-to-day, facilities management, aligning to our growth strategy and in compliance with local, state, and governmental regulations, all with a strong commitment to customer and employee satisfaction.
This role will provide leadership for our Chelmsford campus, encompassing office-based roles, manufacturing and service operations, and engineering laboratories.
This role will lead and manage the Facilities team, which includes EHS & Security, Facilities Planning, Architectural Support, CAD Support & Management, and overall Facilities Operations Management. This leader will be responsible for all aspects of performance management, including developing and driving a high-performance culture, and ensuring team alignment and achievement through the effective use of Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and continuous feedback.
This role will also partner with our global sites, around processes such as global lease management and renewals. In addition, regular interaction with executives and functional leaders is expected, as well as managing service providers and contractors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Central point of oversight for Chelmsford facilities investments, lease management and planning
- Accountable for facilities spending, including capital requests for facilities-related work (e.g., construction, CAD drawings, Statements of Work).
- Oversee maintenance of insurance certificates for facilities vendors.
- Participate in Safety Committee, Compliance Committee, Business Continuity initiatives, and Emergency Weather Planning initiatives.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with Company Facilities Policies and Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and other Facilities Documents, adhering to local legislation and ISO standards.
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and governmental regulatory obligations.
- Provide leadership and development to the direct team supporting Chelmsford/Home Site Operations, including oversight of facilities functions such as construction and maintenance plans, CAD drawings, and scope of work documentation.
- Manage facilities-related spending and contract procurement for services like electricity and natural gas supply, janitorial, landscaping, snow plowing, and cafeteria services.
- Oversee EHS and Security functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, company policy adherence, and operational support.
- Develop specifications for cost-effective campus energy management systems; supervise the operations, maintenance, and repair of such systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5+ years of managerial experience in site Facilities Operations, Real Estate, Construction, and Lease negotiation.
- Working knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services. Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and other reporting and collaboration tools.
