Global Service Logistics Manager

Job Description

Work Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia (HYBRID)

About the Role:

The Global Service Logistics Manager at Brooks is responsible for developing and leading the global field logistics support strategy and field logistics process and procedures. Reporting to the GM, Global Service based in the US, this role is responsible for global inventory analytics and management, performance metric creation and management, along with the financial responsibility of field inventory.

This role will approve global inventory add/subtract and will have accountability for E&O process and management, global audit scheduling, management reporting, and 3rd party warehousing agreements/management. You will collaborate with Product Groups on the creation of FRU list and management and will collaborate with Supply Chain to manage lead times and pricing.

This position also requires working closely with cross-functional partners in Operations, Engineering Sales, Field Service and Product Management to ensure that Brooks’ total needs are clearly defined. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring that service achieves optimal performance targets for customer satisfaction, inventory optimization, cost reduction, and forecast accuracy, while working as an autonomous, individual contributor in this high-impact, global role at Brooks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement inventory plans, in accordance with global policies and strategies, to deliver the optimum balance of inventory level and customer service.

  • Control and authorize changes and additions to inventory targets; recognize need to adjust as business conditions change.

  • Ensure correct levels of inventory and associated process management to deliver required customer service.

  • Manage and minimize Excess & Obsolete inventory and write-offs.

  • Drive inventory reduction programs.

  • Support period end inventory reporting and reconciliation.

  • Provide management reports on any significant inventory events and plans to manage.

  • Manage PI controls and counts; ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Create and monitor KPIs; measure and monitor performance using a variety of metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives and escalations as needed.

  • Launch and lead projects, often with a cross-functional nature, to drive improvements and apply best in class supply chain tools and techniques where appropriate.

  • Monitor capacity planning.

  • Identify and manage (minimize) backlog, Identify and manage any process blocks preventing timely execution and ensure effective and disciplined transactional controls are enforced for DRO’s and other service transactions.

  • Monitor and minimize order backlogs leading to customer escalations.

  • Any other duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Minimum 10-12 years' experience in global logistics functions (contract logistics, freight forwarding, reverse logistics, warehousing), supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Expertise in managing and optimizing global supply chains, including inventory control, transportation, and distribution.

  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction, with the ability to coordinate and ensure timely delivery of service parts to meet customer needs and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and to address and resolve logistical challenges efficiently.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones.

  • Strategic thinking skills including an ability to make sound business and financial judgments.

  • Knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes and knowledge of effective technology driven quality processes.

  • Must be willing to travel internationally 25-30% of the time.
