Engineering Change Analyst

Job Description

Work Location: Onsite – Johor, Malaysia.

Temporary site: Tanjung Pelepas, Gelang Patah

Permanent Site (We will be moving in Q3 of 2025): Pasir Gudang

About the Role:

The Engineering Change (EC) Analyst plays a critical role in managing engineering change processes for our complex, Semiconductor equipment manufacturing. As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, this role ensures changes to product designs, documentation, and configurations are thoroughly evaluated, approved, and implemented with accuracy and timeliness across all relevant functions including engineering, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing.

You will be responsible for leading projects which optimize cost, quality, and schedule requirements within the Brooks Manufacturing site, assessing and deploying Continuous Improvement (CI) development plans and setting goals, responsibilities, and aligning KPI targets with site business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from initiation through release and implementation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional impact assessments involving engineering, systems integration, production, inventory, supply chain, and quality.
  • Ensure timely review and approval of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in compliance with internal standards and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date product documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, and configuration specifications within PLM and ERP system (e.g. Agile, Oracle).
  • Lead/Facilitate the Engineering Change Review Board (ECRB) and provide detailed change analysis to stakeholders.
  • Monitor ECO progress and provide regular status updates to leadership and project teams. Act as the Malaysia site’s final Operations Execution approval.
  • Partner with supply chain, production, and engineering to ensure readiness for parts or process changes, minimizing disruption to production schedules, and new product transfer transitions schedules.
  • Identify and drive process improvements in the change management lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations (e.g., SEMI standards, ISO 9001 where applicable).
  • Train engineering, supply chain, and production teams on EC processes and tools.
  • Any other duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering change management role within the Semiconductor Equipment, Capital Machinery, or high-complexity Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle, BOM structures, and configuration management.
  • Proficient in PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Agile, Oracle, SAP).
  • Experience working with engineering documentation, CAD drawings (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and revision control.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple changes simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems integration.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor equipment industry standards (e.g., SEMI, BOM, FMEA, etc.).
  • Understanding of cleanroom assembly processes or ultra-precision mechanical systems.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles will be advantageous.
