About the Role:
Brooks is a prominent leader in the semiconductor industry, known for our innovative technology and sustainable solutions. As part of our strategic expansion in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced IT Engineer join us based out of our Greenfield manufacturing site in Johor Bahru.
The ideal candidate will work with a global team of IT professionals to facilitate the setting up and maintaining the site’s IT infrastructure/services and supporting the business operations.
Work Location: Onsite, Johor Bahru.
Key Responsibilities:
End User Support: Responsible for providing IT support and effective solutions to technical issues.
Hardware & Software Support: Provide comprehensive support for all hardware and software issues. Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PCs, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
Infrastructure Support: Provide comprehensive IT infrastructure support for the entire site, including servers, storage and network equipment.
IT Policies: Enforce IT/Security policies and procedures set by the company to ensure data protection, integrity and compliance with company standards.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for the procurement and maintenance of hardware and software. Evaluate and recommend new technologies.
System Monitoring: Monitor the performance of all IT systems, including servers, network infrastructure, and applications. Proactively identify and address potential issues.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of the IT infrastructure, configurations, procedures, and service requests.
Other duties as assigned.
Some travel may be required.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Degree in IT / Computer Engineering and a minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role.
Experience with deploying IT infrastructure and services in a large manufacturing environment.
Good knowledge of Structured Cabling, Network Architecture / Technologies (LAN/WAN/Cloud).
Proficient in setting up and managing LAN/WAN networks.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Autopilot, VMware, Cisco IOS,
Strong problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of cybersecurity principles.
Experience with help desk software and ticketing systems. Ability to manage and resolve support requests efficiently.
Ability to write and use scripts (PowerShell, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes.
In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, storage devices, and peripherals. Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware issues.
