Our Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Systems Engineer eager to integrate into our culture and be a key team contributor. This engineer will work with a team to develop new robot and automation system-level solutions for our customers, requiring an in-depth understanding of the products and customer requirements, as well as engaging in analyses of complex subjects and manufacturing challenges. Key responsibilities include working with a cross-functional team to create new systems, developing robot and system cable solutions, developing interface PCBs, and new control modules. Additionally, developing technical presentations and cross-functional issue resolution, as well as product support will be needed. The role involves ensuring proper documentation, consistent use of processes and systems specifications, and adherence to engineering design standards. Collaboration with mechanical and software engineers on complete product solutions is essential.
Typical Week:
In a typical week, priorities for the individual and the team are defined in our online project system. Short and long-term development projects will progress, and questions or issues may arise from customers or our operations team requiring quick investigation and response. Mentoring and cross-training may also take place.
Value to Bring to the Team:
- Ability to learn complex systems quickly and work independently
- A thirst for learning
- Interest in maintaining current in the development of electrical systems for vacuum chambers, pumps, gauges, sensors, and associated instrumentation
- Strong technical communication and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills with co-worker, vendor and customer interactions
- Perform system-level troubleshooting and diagnostics for electrical and vacuum subsystems
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless system integration
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards (e.g., ISO, SEMI, CE)
- Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of vacuum systems
- Proficiency with standard lab equipment and tools
- Cable design, prototyping, and debugging circuits in a lab
- Component selection and data sheet interpretation
- Proficiency with standard Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Altium Designer is beneficial
- BSEE with 5+ years of experience, or MSEE with 1+ years of experience
- Occasional travel, <5%
