Mechanical Engineering (Robot Design / Testing) Internship for Summer 2026

Job Description

*** THIS IS AN ON SITE POSITION BASED OUT OF CHELMSFORD, MA ***

We have a Summer Internship opportunity in our Vacuum Automation Engineering group.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Looking for a well-rounded Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern to help facilitate robot design and testing. Will be paired up with a senior engineer on a specific program to develop robotic designs, fixturing, and help in testing designs and robot functionality. Candidate will also be interfacing with outside suppliers and manufacturing through the SIAR (Supplier Installed Action Request) process to address manufacturability issues. This will help develop communication and troubleshooting skills.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering and have completed Sophomore year.

  • FEA Methodology (Fine Element Analysis)

  • Lab work

  • 3D modeling experience. CREO a plus.
