Work Location: Onsite – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.
About the Role:
As Chargeman BO at Brooks Automation Malaysia, you will be responsible to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-voltage electrical systems up to 11kV at our brand new, Greenfield manufacturing facility and office site in Johor Bahru, playing a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient power distribution.
In this newly created position, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining 11kV switchgear, transformers, and related equipment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and executing high voltage switching operations in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations. You will play a critical part in minimizing downtime, troubleshooting electrical issues, and upholding the highest standards of safety and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain 11kV switchgear, transformers, generators, and UPS systems, etc.
Perform high-voltage switching operations and isolation procedures safely.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on HV/LV electrical systems.
Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with:
-- Electricity Supply Act 1990
-- Electricity Regulations 1994
-- Energy Commission (ST) requirements.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and statutory compliance, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Respond to electrical emergencies and power failures promptly.
Support other M&E systems (HVAC, fire alarms, lifts) and other building services as required
Any other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Diploma or equivalent education with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining high-voltage electrical systems (up to 11kV).
MUST HAVE: Chargeman BO (11kV) Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).
Strong knowledge of:
- Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994. - Electrical safety standards and first aid procedures.
Ability to perform high-voltage switching operations safely and independently.
Good troubleshooting skills and experience with preventive maintenance.
Willingness to work on-call and respond to electrical emergencies.
Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
Knowledge of:
-- Electrical safety & first aid.
-- Electricity Supply Act & Regulations.
-- Operation of HV equipment without danger.
