About the Role:
We are looking for a Technical Writer to develop, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing Work Instructions (WI) for capital equipment production. In this role, you will ensure documentation is accurate,
intuitive, compliant, and optimized for effective use on the manufacturing floor. You will work closely with
Engineering, Production, Quality, and EHS teams to ensure clarity, correctness, and usability of all production documentation.

Work Location: Onsite – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Development & Control
Develop, update, and maintain Work Instructions (WIs) for production teams.
Ensure compliance with company documentation standards, formatting rules, and change control processes.
Manage document lifecycle including version control and controlled release using ERP systems such as Agile.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with Manufacturing Engineers, Production, Quality, and EHS to gather inputs and validate technical accuracy.
Facilitate reviews and approvals to ensure alignment and compliance.
Align timelines, manage prioritization, and escalate when needed.
Content Quality & Standardization
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
Review documents for consistency, readability, usability, and adherence to standards.
Implement standardization across terminology, formatting, structure, and visuals.
Training & Knowledge Transfer Support
Extend support for the development of training materials such as job aids, visual instructions, and modules.
Assist in implementing documentation-based training to ensure correct adoption on the shop floor.
Continuous Improvement (CI)
Improve WI development workflows, templates, and usability to enhance production efficiency.
Contribute to initiatives that reduce documentation errors and shorten review/approval cycles.
Improve WI request and change control processes to prevent scope creep.
Compliance & Governance
Comply with corporate policies, code of conduct, QMS, EHS, data/IP protection, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and evidence.
Other Responsibilities
Perform additional tasks or assigned duties aligned with business needs and potential role expansion.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, or related technical field.
Minimum 3–5 years of technical writing experience, ideally within high-tech, semiconductor, electronics, or capital equipment manufacturing environments.
Technical & Functional Skills
Strong understanding of documentation development, controlled-document environments, and structured content methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals, process flows, and technical specifications.
Proficient with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Creative Cloud, SharePoint, and other content management systems.
Behavioral Competencies

High attention to detail, accuracy, compliance, and organizational rigor.
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accountability in fast-paced environments.

Ability to guide or support team initiatives when required.
Working Conditions & Requirements
Primarily office-based, with occasional work in production or operational areas while following all safety, EHS, cleanroom, and PPE requirements.
May be required to extend working hours or support during non-working days to meet critical business needs.
May involve local or international travel based on operational or project requirements.
