BPE Lead - Finance

Job Description

Work Location: We offer flexible work options depending on where you’re currently located:

  • Johor-based applicants → On‑site at our Johor office
  • Penang-based applicants → On‑site at our Penang office
  • Applicants from other states in Malaysia → Eligible for a REMOTE work arrangement

About the Role:

We are looking for a Business Process Excellence Lead, Finance to complement our local and global cross-functional teams. This role reports to the Business Process Excellence Global Finance Lead and will contribute to strengthening Brooks Automations’ global finance working on-site in our newly constructed manufacturing facility in Malaysia.

As Business Process Owner for finance you will be located on site and this role is responsible for offering specialized expertise and guidance in the field of finance, covering principles, practices, and policies. This role is crucial for Brooks to optimize Oracle Fusion’s financial accounting systems, processes, and procedures.

The BPE Lead, Finance is expected to have a proven track record in evaluating organizational needs and leading the development of technical solutions. This includes the capacity to recommend appropriate technical solutions and determine software development requirements to support all aspects of finance including Accounts Payable, Receivables, Cash Management and Fixed Assets, including accounting functions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management
– Lead and/or participate in all aspects of finance‑related project management activities.
– Ensure finance projects align with organizational objectives and requirements.

• Financial Accounting Expertise
– Possess strong knowledge of financial accounting principles across Payables, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, and Subledger transactions.
– Understand intercompany processes and cost management principles.

• Solution Design & Implementation
– Identify and implement appropriate technical solutions to meet financial and operational requirements.
– Provide subject matter expertise while supporting system configuration, enhancements, and process automation.

• Cross‑Functional Collaboration
– Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to ensure accounting practices align with overall business strategy.
– Support triage and resolution of production issues, working closely with business teams, end users, and third‑party partners.

• Documentation & Training
– Develop and review project documentation, training materials, and process improvement initiatives.
– Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies.
– Drive user adoption of new processes through engagement and training.
– Implement mechanisms for ongoing training, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

• Process Improvement & Strategy Alignment
– Identify short‑ and long‑term process changes that enable finance strategic goals.
– Build scalable processes that support growth and facilitate acquisition integration from a finance/accounting standpoint.

• Other Responsibilities
– Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Degree or higher with at least 7+ years’ Global finance experience including success with business optimization, and Oracle Fusion.

  • In-depth understanding of analyzing and managing organizations’ financial needs.

  • End-to-end knowledge of integrations with all Oracle modules across the financial spectrum.

  • Ability to build/maintain effective customer relations and how to manage resources effectively.

  • Experience in Management of cost-effective financial strategies and methods of production.

  • Process mindset with ability to think beyond current processes and identify continuous and transformational improvement opportunities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage in alignment and process adoption within a cross-functional and global implementation team.

  • Project management skills for prioritization, organization, and stakeholder/user communications.

  • Strong proficiency in finance accounting principles and practices is essential for the role.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess organizational needs and recommend suitable technical solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective consultation across business operations and for mentoring others.

  • This role requires technical proficiency and adept use of electronic business management systems and possesses advanced knowledge of business operations and project management.

  • Limited domestic and/or international travel may be required.
