Brooks is seeking a Senior Manager Compliance leader with deep trade compliance experience who is ready to step into a broader, enterprise‑wide compliance role. This position is ideal for a leader who has built strong trade compliance programs and is motivated to expand into areas such as third‑party risk, ethics & compliance, regulatory risk management, and enterprise compliance governance.
This role will own and evolve Brooks’ global trade compliance program while also serving as a key architect and operator of the broader compliance framework, working closely with Legal, EHS & Sustainability, Supply Chain, Finance, and business leaders worldwide.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Brooks’ global trade compliance program, including export controls, sanctions, customs, and import/export compliance. This role will work closely with Logistics, Supply Chain, and Commercial Operations.
Serve as the company’s subject‑matter expert on trade regulations, providing practical guidance to business, supply chain, and operations teams.
Ensure policies, procedures, controls, and training are risk‑based, scalable, and audit‑ready.
Oversee trade compliance investigations, disclosures, and remediation where required.
Monitor regulatory developments and proactively assess impact to Brooks’ global operations.
Enterprise Compliance Expansion
Partner with Legal and business leaders to design, implement, and mature Brooks’ broader compliance program, aligned to DOJ guidance, Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) requirements, and leading practices.
Support and progressively assume ownership for areas such as:
Third‑party risk management
Ethics & compliance program execution
Regulatory compliance oversight
Policy governance and internal controls
Help move the organization from compliance as obligation to compliance as business enabler and risk discipline.
Program Leadership & Governance
Translate regulatory requirements (exclusive of product regulatory requirements) into clear expectations, accountability, and execution across the organization.
Develop and track compliance metrics that demonstrate effectiveness, not just activity.
Partner closely with EHS & Sustainability leaders to ensure alignment across trade, human rights, RBA, and responsible sourcing expectations.
Prepare materials and insights for senior leadership and Board‑level discussions as appropriate.
Business Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor to global business and functional leaders.
Balance rigor with pragmatism—providing solutions that protect the company without slowing the business unnecessarily.
Build credibility through strong judgment, clear communication, and consistent follow‑through.
What Success Looks Like
Brooks maintains a strong, risk-based, credible trade compliance posture with no material breakdowns while ensuring business continuity.
The broader compliance program becomes more integrated, proactive, and risk‑based.
Business leaders understand compliance expectations and see the function as a partner, not a blocker.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of experience in trade compliance, regulatory compliance, or related legal/compliance roles.
Demonstrated depth in export controls, sanctions, customs, and global trade regulations.
Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization.
Strong interest in and aptitude for expanding into enterprise compliance leadership.
Ability to engage credibly with senior leaders while also driving execution at the working level.
Law degree or advanced compliance certification a plus but not required.
Why This Role Is Different
This is not a narrow trade compliance role.
This is a growth role for a leader ready to broaden scope and influence.
You will help shape the future of compliance at Brooks, not just run a program.
