Training Manager

Job Description

Work Location: ONSITE – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.

About the Role:

Brooks is a prominent leader in the Semiconductor industry, known for our innovative technology and sustainable solutions. As part of our strategic expansion in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced Training Manager to join us at our Greenfield manufacturing facility in Johor.

As Training Manager, you play a pivotal role in overseeing technical training processes within our brand-new factory in Johor Bahru, Malaysia with your key responsibilities encompassing delivering, and managing comprehensive training programs that enhance the technical competency of internal teams.

This role ensures that Technicians and Engineers are equipped with the skills necessary to safely and effectively perform a wide variety of Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, Electro Mechanical Assembly operations on equipment and sub-assemblies, precision alignment, end-of-line testing and burn-in activities following clean room, capital equipment industry, quality and workmanship standards. You will also drive continuous improvement in training quality, develop certification pathways, and collaborates crossfunctionally to support business objectives and ramps.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Strategy & Program Development:

  • Coordinate and implement Brooks Training Program covering clean manufacturing standards, proper use of hand tools, jig and fixtures, equipment assembly operation, end of line testing, quality standard, workmanship standard, and safety compliance.

  • Contribute and facilitate Brooks Training Blueprint to enable success deliver world class training programs.

  • Design and maintain detailed training materials and establish certification programs for internal teams.

Technical Training Delivery:

  • Deliver highimpact training in classroom, handson, and virtual environments.

  • Conduct training for new hires and existing teams if required refresher training, ensuring quick rampup in their knowledge supporting business requirements.

  • Lead trainthetrainer sessions for team lead, supervisors and engineering SMEs.

Training Needs Assessment:

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other technical support teams to identify skill gaps.

  • Conduct competency assessments and job-task analyses together with engineering SMEs.

  • Evaluate training records, manpower planning, quality metric data, safety incidents, and process deviations to determine training priorities.

Training Tools, Technology & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain training labs, demo units, and equipment required for hands‑on instruction.

  • Implement modern learning platforms to improve training efficiency and productivity.

  • Foster Continuous Improvement Culture within training.

Quality, Compliance & Audit Readiness:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO / customer quality requirements.

  • Lead training in supporting internal, customer and regulatory audits and own trainingrelated NCRs, CAPAs, and preventive actions.

  • Maintain complete document control.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Engineering to ensure training accuracy and alignment during new product transition.

  • Update training content and conduct training based on engineering change notices (ECNs), process and quality improvements.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for external training providers, certification bodies, and academic/technical institutions.

Performance Management & Reporting:

  • Own and drive training metrics set, including safety, quality, cost and productivity, and delivery.

  • Maintain accurate training records, schedules, metrics, and certification databases.

  • Prepare management reports to summarize training activity, outcomes, and improvement plans.

  • Any other duties or projects assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or Adult Learning or Data Science or equivalent technical training discipline.

  • At least 5+ years of dedicated experience in Technical Training, Engineering, Field Service, or Manufacturing within the Capital Equipment sector (e.g., semiconductor, electronics, automation, heavy machinery, robotics, CNC, industrial equipment).

  • Proven experience creating and delivering handson training for complex equipment in customer or factory environments.

  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, automation, PLCs, robotics, sensors, and industrial safety standards.

  • Experience with LMS (Learning Management Systems) platforms, digital training tools, and AR/VR technologies

  • Ability to simplify and teach complex engineering concepts

  • Training content development and instructional design

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, TPM, FMEA, and root cause analysis methodologies.

  • Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking

  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination

  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and equipment upgrades

  • Professional certifications such as CTT+, TWI (Training Within Industry), or Instructional Design certification are a plus.
