Product Manager - AnalyticalJob Description
Brooks – Laboratory Automation Solutions (LAS) is a global leader in designing and manufacturing innovative automation solutions that optimise workflows across analytical laboratory environments. From research and QA/QC laboratories to industrial and life‑science applications, Brooks delivers compact, intelligent automation systems that improve reliability, repeatability, and productivity.
At Brooks LAS, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. We are passionate about solving real-world challenges in laboratory automation and empowering our teams to think boldly, act with purpose, and continuously learn.
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager – Analytical Laboratory, to own and evolve the Brooks AIM Autosampler portfolio serving analytical laboratory applications.
Brooks’ portfolio for Analytical Laboratories refers specifically to autosamplers designed for analytical laboratory instruments and techniques—such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and related analytical measurement workflows—where precision, repeatability, instrument compatibility, and method integrity are critical.
The Product Manager – Analytical Laboratory is responsible for defining product strategy, requirements, and lifecycle management for analytical autosamplers, while also leading the commercial and marketing enablement activities required to successfully position, launch, and grow the portfolio globally.
This role represents a rare opportunity in the Brisbane market to work within a business that combines local design, development, and manufacturing with global export and customer reach.
Based on the Northside of Brisbane, Brooks LAS designs and builds advanced laboratory automation solutions that are deployed worldwide, partnering with some of the largest and most respected multinational companies in the industry. Few organisations offer the chance to influence globally adopted products while working hands‑on within an end‑to‑end operation spanning product definition, engineering, manufacturing, and commercialisation.
For the right candidate, this role offers exposure, impact, and career growth that is uncommon in a locally based operation.
What you’ll do:
Product & Portfolio Management
Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for AIM autosamplers used in analytical laboratory applications, from concept through launch and end‑of‑life.
Define product strategy and roadmaps aligned to analytical techniques, instrument classes, and customer segments.
Translate analytical application requirements into clear product definitions, specifications, and priorities.
Ensure compatibility between AIM autosamplers and analytical instruments, including mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.
Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, validation activities, and product documentation relevant to analytical laboratory environments.
Market, Customer & VOC Engagement
Build strong relationships with key customers, distributors, partners, and subject‑matter experts in analytical laboratory automation.
Lead and participate in customer evaluations, demonstrations, and pilot programs focused on analytical workflows.
Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) activities to assess customer expectations, identify unmet needs, and inform product enhancements.
Participate in formal and informal market research and communicate findings to product and marketing leadership.
Marketing & Commercial Enablement
Prepare and coordinate marketing support programs for the analytical autosampler portfolio and in synergy with other Brooks Laboratory Automation Solutions portfolio requirements.
Contribute to the planning and creation of promotional materials, product updates, and internal/external communications.
Lead or support the development and execution of go‑to‑market and marketing strategies for the analytical business line.
Develop and maintain competitive intelligence files, perform competitive analyses, and act as a subject‑matter expert for the portfolio.
Assist with market and portfolio analysis, including competitive pricing, positioning, market share, and portfolio planning.
Training, Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration
Develop and deliver product training programs and educational presentations to internal teams and external audiences.
Support and collaborate on trade shows, industry events, and customer workshops.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with R&D, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Marketing Communications, and global affiliates.
What you’ll bring:
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Marketing, or a related field.
3–5+ years’ experience within the laboratory industry, with exposure to analytical instrumentation or laboratory automation.
Experience in product management, product marketing, or technical product sales.
Strong understanding of analytical laboratory terminology, workflows, and environments.
