About the Role:
Brooks is a prominent leader in the semiconductor industry, known for our innovative technology and sustainable solutions. As part of our strategic expansion in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced Program Manager - Sourcing to become a part of the dynamic Commodity Sourcing team which will be based out of Pasir Gudang, Johor, to identify new suppliers with capabilities that match the goals/objectives and support the production ramp of the site.
The Program Manager - Sourcing will be responsible for supporting the Strategic & Sourcing Commodity Manager in executing sourcing strategies for key commodities, ensuring supply continuity, driving cost optimization and managing supplier relationships globally and interfacing with the local Sourcing team to operationalize the tactical actions. This role will review all the required support and ensure that all assigned products are released in accordance with projected deliverables.
Work Location: Onsite, Pasir Gudang – Johor Bahru.
Key Responsibilities:
Localization/New Releases & Costs Management:
- Primary ownership of new product materials costs with full understanding and reporting of cost drivers and changes.
- Partners with Engineering, Commodity Managers, and Supplier to drive optimal materials plan including alignment with commodity strategies for supply base optimization and lowest total acquisition cost.
- Coordinate with NPI/Project transfer team to ensure localization rationalization is aligned with the production ramp & revenue plan and products are efficiently and accurately released through ERP systems and managed within Agile (BOM).
- Responsible for all product materials localization (new and legacy) supporting the project lifecycle deliverables and ensuring best in class sourcing.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management:
- Manage flow of materials as per project requirements including analysis of supplier capacity and capability to ensure their ability to supplier with on going Brooks Automation priority of materials flow for timely line fill and inventory optimization.
- Interacts with suppliers to ensure appropriate support and execution of NPI deliverables as well as participate in managing supplier relationships and performance
- This includes identification and mitigation of long-term supply chain risks presented by localization challenges or design complications.
- Support resolution of supplier‑related quality, delivery, or compliance issues.
Contract Negotiation Management:
- Lead contract negotiations including pricing, terms and conditions, service levels, and long‑term supply agreements.
- Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, contractual standards, and ethical sourcing requirements.
- Maintain and update master supply agreements and commodity contracts.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work with assigned functional leaders to track and coordinate all supply chain program deliverables, highlighting key program risks and putting plans in place to mitigate those risks, providing regular reports/updates on program status.
- Support demand forecasting, inventory planning, and risk mitigation with Planning teams.
- Participate in make vs buy analysis and supplier transitions.
- Provide technical support for design for all desirable manufacturability, assembly, test attributes) including reviewing engineering changes and assessment of materials/supply chain impact.
- Active engagement in process improvements to continually increase efficiency and effectiveness of product development and supply chain processes.
Others
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time to ensure risks are mitigated and change management is constantly reviewed.
- Travel to supplier sites for business-related purposes is required when deemed necessary.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or another related field
- Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g. CPM, CPSM, APICS) is an advantage
Experience
- At least 7 - 12 years of experience in procurement, category management, commodity management, or sourcing roles with a combination of 3+ years of NPI or Program management through the development and product life-cycle processes.
- Experience in managing global suppliers and commodity categories (electronics, metals, Plastics, mechanicals, Chemicals, etc. with ability to read and interpret technical documents including drawings, blueprints, product specifications, materials tolerances, finish specifications. Understanding of GD&T and mechanical industry workmanship standards.
- Proven track record in cost savings, supplier negotiations, and sourcing strategy development
- Lean Six-Sigma training and/or certification highly advantageous
- Must have experience with international purchasing and sourcing including ability to interact and work with teams which are geographically dispersed; prefer experience with supply base in Southeast Asia.

- Experience and knowledge of Semi-Conductor Equipment manufacturing is highly desirable
