Work Location: Onsite – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily accounting activities, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset tracking and lease accounting. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
- Direct and coordinate month‑end and quarter‑end closing processes. Oversee preparation of financial statements and management reports in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP, ensuring deadlines are met and variances are explained.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local tax regulations. Manage statutory reporting requirements, liaise with regulatory authorities, and ensure timely submission of tax filings (ie Corporate Income Tax, E-invoice, Sales and Service tax, Withholding tax, Stamp Duty etc.
- Oversee financial data reconciliation and record accuracy in Oracle Cloud. Implement and maintain controls to safeguard data integrity, troubleshoot system issues, and support process automation initiatives.
- Organize, maintain, and review accounting records to support internal and external audits. Ensure documentation is complete, accessible, and compliant with statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with the Company Secretary to ensure timely preparation, review, and submission of statutory documents (e.g., board resolutions, annual returns, directors’ disclosures). Support compliance with Companies Act requirements, maintain accurate corporate records, and facilitate communication between management, directors, and external regulators.
- Prepare and submit the quarterly International Investment Position (IIP) report to Bank Negara Malaysia in accordance with prescribed guidelines. Liaise with Bank Negara officers to address queries, ensure timely submission, and uphold compliance with Foreign Exchange Administration (FEA) requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison with external service providers (e.g., TMF) to coordinate accounting and tax workflows. Build strong relationships to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
- Assist the Senior Accounting Manager in developing budgets, conducting comprehensive financial analyses, and driving operational improvement initiatives. This includes leading process optimization projects, implementing system enhancements, and strengthening internal controls to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Perform any other financial duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in Manufacturing or MNC environments
- Preferred Industry: Semiconductor
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations and tax laws
- Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Oracle, and strong Excel skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities; fluent in English
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to prioritize tasks
- A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive improvements
- Willingness to work on-site in Johor and collaborate across teams (cross-functional)
- Willing to work at Pasir Gudang
