About the Role:
Brooks is a prominent leader in the semiconductor industry, known for our innovative technology and sustainable solutions. As part of our strategic expansion in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Program Manager – Strategic Sourcing to become a part of the dynamic Sourcing team which will be based out of Pasir Gudang, Johor, to assist the Program Manager in planning, execution, and monitoring of programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective communication.
Work Location: Onsite - Pasir Gudang, Johor.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Program Management
- Assist the Program Manager in the orchestration and execution of program objectives, ensuring smooth operations and successful outcomes.
- Perform checks/validation on any data migration, BOMs
Supplier Relationships & Performance Management
- Organize program requirements, or any meetings with key stakeholders and support the internal and external engagements
- Follow-up on supplier datelines and report back on schedule misses based on the project timelines
Facilitate Communication
- Maintain communication between projects teams, stakeholders, and external partners, providing regular updates and reports on program status.
- Assist in any follow-ups to meet project datelines
Facilitation
- Work with assigned Program Manager to support and assist in all supply chain program deliverables, reporting on project status or KPIs
- Support demand forecasting, inventory planning, and risk mitigation with Planning teams.
- Participate in make vs buy analysis and supplier transitions. Follow up with internal teams on readiness and ensure next steps are followed through.
- Provide technical support for design for all desirable manufacturability, assembly, test attributes) including reviewing engineering changes and assessment of materials/supply chain impact.
- Active engagement in process improvements to continually increase efficiency and effectiveness of product development and supply chain processes
Others
- Duties as assigned from time to time to ensure risks are mitigated and change management is constantly reviewed.
- Travel to supplier sites for business related purposes are required when deemed necessary.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Project Management or related field. Advance degree may enhance prospects.
Experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience in procurement, category management, commodity management, or Sourcing roles with a combination of hands-on experience of 1 – 2 years successfully managing projects or components of large programs.
- Experience in managing global suppliers and commodity categories (electronics, metals, Plastics, mechanicals, Chemicals, etc. with ability to read and interpret technical documents including drawings, blueprints, product specifications, materials tolerances, finish specifications will be an added advantage
- Understanding of cost savings, exposure to supplier negotiations, global or particularly SEA exposure is a plus point.
- Lean Six-Sigma training and/or certification highly advantageous
Skills
- Results Orientated, customer-focused, self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal direction, and pro-active attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Experience and knowledge of Semi-Conductor Equipment manufacturing is highly desirable
