Overview of Job Function:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Database Operations team. This role is responsible for managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments, ensuring database availability, performance, security, and reliability across business-critical systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in database administration, backup and recovery, High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR), DB cloud operations and production support. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex database issues, driving operational excellence, and contributing to automation initiatives.

We are seeking a proactive and skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Database Operations team. This role is responsible for managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments, ensuring database availability, performance, security, and reliability across business-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in database administration, backup and recovery, High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR), DB cloud operations and production support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019, SQL Server 2022.
- Proficiency in database troubleshooting.
- Experience with Backup & Recovery, database migrations, and HA/DR solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups.
- Understanding of SQL Server Security, Auditing, and Compliance practices.
- Exposure to AWS RDS for SQL Server administration and support.
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting.
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts and CI/CD processes for database deployments.
- Experience with ticketing and service management tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and operational best practices.
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications preferred.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Database Administration & Operations
- Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, and monitor Microsoft SQL Server environments to ensure database health, availability, and performance.
- Manage routine database administration activities, including maintenance plans, health checks, and capacity planning.
- Administer database backups, restores, and recovery processes to support business continuity requirements.
- Support and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions, including Always On Availability Groups.
- Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks through proactive monitoring and analysis.
- Monitor database performance metrics and implement recommendations to enhance overall system performance.
- Support database deployments, releases, upgrades, and migration activities.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
- Administer database security, user access management, roles, and permissions.
- Support SQL Server auditing, compliance requirements, and security best practices.
- Ensure database environments align with organizational standards and governance policies.
