Summary
Calix is seeking an accomplished Area Vice President, Alphabet Alliance, to lead and expand our multifaceted partnership with Alphabet Inc. and its subsidiaries—including Google, Google Fiber, and Google Cloud. This executive will serve as the primary Calix leader for all aspects of the Calix-Alphabet relationship, ensuring each engagement is successful, collaborative, and positioned for growth. The role requires both high-level strategic leadership and hands-on operational oversight, modeled after the most successful alliances in the technology sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Calix-Alphabet relationships, including:
- Sell To: Supporting Calix’s sales of products and services to Alphabet entities.
- Sell With: Driving joint go-to-market initiatives and co-selling opportunities with Alphabet, Google Cloud, and Google Fiber.
- Buy From: Supporting the Calix Product Organization in their procurement and use of technology, platforms, and services from Alphabet and its subsidiaries.
- Alliance Management: Coordinating alliance governance, executive engagement, and joint strategic planning.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive alliance strategy that aligns with Calix’s business objectives and leverages the full Alphabet ecosystem.
- Build and maintain strong, multi-level relationships with executives and key stakeholders at Alphabet and its subsidiaries.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand the partnership portfolio, driving innovation and mutual growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Calix-Alphabet relationships, including:
- Operational Oversight & Internal Coordination:
- Oversee day-to-day management of all joint initiatives, ensuring seamless execution across sales, technology, and alliance management workstreams.
- Coordinate closely with Calix Sales leadership on Sell-To activities and in joint pursuits with Google’s Telecom Vertical team and Worldwide Sales teams.
- Partner with the Calix Product organization on Buy-From activities, including Calix’s use of GCP and other Google technologies.
- Coordinate internal Calix teams (sales, product, engineering, marketing, etc.) to deliver on partnership objectives and commitments.
- Monitor and report on the status, value, and impact of the alliance to Calix leadership and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and implement solutions in collaboration with both Calix and Alphabet teams.
- Executive Engagement:
- Represent Calix in executive-level discussions and negotiations with Alphabet leadership.
- Advocate for Calix’s interests while fostering a spirit of collaboration and shared success.
- Growth & Expansion:
- Continuously assess the partnership landscape for new opportunities to deepen and broaden the alliance, including emerging areas within Google Cloud, Google Fiber, and other Alphabet business units.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in strategic alliances.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of success in building and managing strategic alliances with large technology companies (experience with Alphabet/Google preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at the executive level, both internally and with partners.
- Strong operational management skills, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams and complex projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
