Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer
Reports To: Gerald P. Pascua
Location: Irvine, CA
Department: IT Department
SUMMARY
Working with the IT leadership, the IT Infrastructure Engineer with overall experience in both network engineering and system administration to assist with the planning, designing, and evaluating new and existing IT network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, S2S intranets, SD-WAN, Firewall, Microsoft AD/VMware environment. This is to provide analytical, technical, and administrative support. Plans, oversees, develops, and implements network policies and procedures and ensures network integrity as maintenance and modification projects to existing applications are undertaken. Troubleshoots network issues. Installs and upgrades network equipment and software. Creates and maintains documentation relating to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. Establishes and documents network technical support processes and procedures. Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications. Establishes voice and network standards regarding new technologies and applications. Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports. Acts as technical liaison between clients, customers, and vendors resolve issues as needed.
Responsible for ensuring the network is built securely. Ensure mechanisms in place to identify and remediate network vulnerabilities.
Responsible for evaluating network performance, and capacity to ensure that the business needs are met. Maintain relationships with all relevant vendors. Ensure compliancy with all technology and application standards, including all relevant regulatory corporate compliance (PCI, SOX, HIPPA, GLBA, etc…); maintaining a service management attitude, promoting best practice throughout the IT team; ensuring Service Level Commitments are met and improvement opportunities are highlighted.
Responsible for providing regular communication of progress as required to management and stakeholders; ensure self-development plans are followed and training attended, when scheduled; coach new members of staff to ensure IT/ business expectations are met on a consistent basis; promoting existing and emerging technologies, to provide input on guidelines and roadmaps for future IT infrastructure developments.
What We're Looking for:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Networking solutions, network design, development and analysis, routing and switching protocols, LAN/WAN/Data Center technologies (wireless, wired, voice, video, convergence, security, VM, )
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge and experience in IP Networks, both on-premise and cloud-hosted IaaS, PaaS, Saas, within AWS and/or Azure.
- Working knowledge of in the following areas: Cisco Router/Switch, SD-WAN, Ruckus Mesh Wireless, Cisco WLAN, Network Management
- Experience in Fortinet Full Stack technologies (Fortigate Firewall/Secure SDWAN/ VPN)
- Experience with Cisco Meraki networking solutions (SDWAN/Switching/Wireless).
- Experience of cloud-hosted Network technologies.
- Experience in working on a diverse portfolio of projects.
- Experience of working according to ITIL processes, e.g. Incident Management, Change Management
- Knowledge / experience of third-party supplier / vendor management (network products, cloud technologies and professional services).
- Knowledge and experience of quality management principles and processes
- Knowledge and experience in agile work methodologies and related tools
- Knowledge with network automation/scripting and related tools (Ansible/Terraform/Python/etc)
Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of relevant IT experience in large/complex IT architecture environments
- 5+ years Knowledge in deploying, operating, and maintaining large scale network environments including LAN/WAN/Data Center/SDWAN, WLAN, Wi-Fi Mesh, VM environment.
- 5+ years with Windows AD/EntraID Group Policy GPOs and OU administration.
- 5+ years TCP/IP network engineering skills.
- 5+ years experience in managing network management tools. (ACS, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, etc.)
- Knowledge of complex campus cable designs.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills with demonstrated commitment to producing high quality documentation.
- Ability to work well with others across many organizations including development, sales, marketing, finance, customer support, and field service.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be able to interface with all levels of management and teams within the Global IT COE.
- Professional customer service focused attitude.
- CCNA/NSE5 or higher, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Ability to identify problems, make decisions, create solutions and take actions.
- Highly self-motivated and directed with an attention to detail and strong customer service focus.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities to strict deadlines within a highly demanding technical environment.
- Excellent organizational skill
