We're looking for an Assistant for Acoustic Measurements to join our team on a temporary basis, supporting the administration and coordination of vehicle and machinery noise testing activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a specialist technical environment, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing and managing documentation relating to vehicle and machinery noise measurement activities.
- Supporting the processing of administrative requirements, sanction notices and fee settlements in line with regulatory procedures.
- Producing reports, statistics, performance data and key operational information to support service delivery.
- Drafting, updating and maintaining official correspondence and administrative documentation.
- Providing administrative support for regulatory, compliance and enforcement-related case files.
- Maintaining accurate filing systems, archives and document control processes to ensure records remain organised and accessible.
- Delivering a professional and customer-focused experience for visitors attending testing facilities.
- Collaborating with technical and administrative teams to support the efficient day-to-day operation of services and projects.
Skills and Experience
- You hold an FFP1-level vocational qualification (or equivalent).
- You're confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- You have strong organisational skills and can effectively manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
- You communicate clearly and professionally, building positive relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
- You enjoy working within structured processes while maintaining a proactive and adaptable approach.
- You're equally comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- You hold a Category B driving licence.
- Knowledge of vehicle testing, environmental acoustics, noise measurement processes, technical administration or relevant regulations would be advantageous but a willingness to learn and develop is just as important.
