The Opportunity: HBIO is seeking a Junior Account Executive located in Germany, working with our Preclinical Sales Team. The purpose of this position is to extend HBio's position as a preferred life sciences partner in academic institutions, government & pharmaceutical laboratories, biotech and CROs. This position will have a supporting role with our demand generation team while acting as an extension of the field-based sales team. Compensation for this position will include salary, bonuses and all necessary office equipment and communication tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospection: A key aspect of this role will be the identification of new sales opportunities in Europe with the help of our marketing team and through business segment and application-specific prospecting.
- Identifying and qualifying potential leads through inbound and outbound lead generation methods such as cold calling, email campaigns, and online research.
- Using phones, emails, and other virtual communication tools to connect with potential and existing customers.
- Support of the outside Sales team to ensure growth through the achievement of sales targets and objectives. Brands include Data Sciences International, Panlab and Hugo Sachs Elektronik.
- Presence in the field: Customer visits (potential and existing customers), conferences & events mainly in Germany. Expected travel: Up to 30% of the time.
- Acquire and maintain a high proficiency in understanding and relaying the HBio product and service portfolio.
- Engaging customers, assisting and advising them of HBio solutions aligned to meet the needs of their application requirements.
- Perform market research to identify trends, competition, and potential sales opportunities.
- Establish and maintain effective contact with potential and existing customer base to build and maintain relationships and convert them into long-term customers.
- Conduct scheduled check-ins with users to evaluate service and promote workshops, training activities, new features and products.
- Maintaining and updating accurate customer and sales data in the customer relationship management system.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the HBio sales team and collaborate to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Other related tasks as required.
Qualifications / required skills
- Motivation with a strong mindset and a positive attitude.
- Scientific background. Technical aptitude to understand and explain the range of HBio solutions and application areas.
- Good telephone etiquette, attendance and organization skills (time management / prioritization).
- Ability to multi-task.
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Social Media, Web search).
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build customer rapport.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a group.
- Ability to work in a home-office environment.
- A flexible approach and the ability to influence others.
- The drive and commitment to achieve personal and company goals.
- German as native language or equivalent. English language proficiency required. Multilingual proficiency in 1 other European languages (French / Spanish or Italian) to communicate with clients across different regions would be preferred.
Education and Experience or equivalent:
- Minimum 4 Year Degree is preferred
- Previous outbound telephone / inside sales helpful
- Laboratory research or familiarity with electronics and scientific/biomedical laboratory equipment.
- Understanding of the sales process and metrics and the use of data analytics to refine sales strategies.
- Experience using customer relationship management software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge and understanding of lead generation, market research, and prospecting techniques is preferred but not mandatory.
