THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Operations Manager, we are seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our Operations team. This role requires a motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills both written and oral.

The warehouse operative will be responsible for a range of duties within the warehouse environment including (but not exclusively) shipping and receiving, maintaining inventory, completing paperwork, forklift operation and quality control.

Essential Job Functions

  • Making sure stock and supplies are received, booked in and stored correctly.
  • Pick orders in an accurate and time efficient manner.
  • Have good attention to detail, ensuring items and work are completed with minimal errors.
  • Packing items ready for dispatch ensuring labels and invoices are printed and correct.
  • Loading / Unloading vehicles.
  • Carry out required cycle-counts for the department to meet its targets on pick-accuracy.
  • Ensure chemicals and spares are kitted correctly as required.
  • Quality Control of incoming goods

· Maintaining a clear and tidy warehouse, ensuring any potential hazards are dealt with safely, quickly, and efficiently.

  • Working both independently and as part of a team
  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.

skills and abilities required

  • Good communication and a positive, team focused attitude
  • Good level of I.T skills
  • Experience of working within a warehousing function – Essential
  • Forklift License (Reach, Electric Stacker Truck) – Preferred
  • Dangerous Goods knowledge – An advantage
  • Lean Management knowledge - An advantage
