Logo Design Brief
We need a logo for AMMI Atelier, a dried and preserved floral design studio based in Colorado. We sell bouquets and floral décor online and in person, and we do floral installations for events. The studio is also a creative community space where women gather to work with flowers together.
Our name comes from Ammi majus (also called False Queen Anne's Lace) — a wildflower whose umbel structure is hundreds of tiny blooms radiating from one center, forming a single unified whole. That structure is also a metaphor for our business: individual women coming together to create something larger than themselves.
What the logo should communicate: artisanal, not mass-produced. Modern and sophisticated, not rustic or nostalgic. Botanical without being twee. Confident, like a small fashion house — not a farmhouse gift shop.
Colors:
Primary/signature: Cosmos Burgundy #8A1818 (should anchor the logo)
Secondary accents (optional, use sparingly): Wild Orchid #D490B8, Colorado Amber #EDBA60, Cosmos Peach #F2A090
Typography direction: A clean geometric sans-serif (similar to Montserrat) OR an elegant modern serif (similar to Cormorant Garamond) for the wordmark "AMMI ATELIER." Confident and unadorned, like a fashion house logotype. No script or cursive fonts.
We'd love to see: a minimal, single-line botanical mark — a stem, a floret/umbel cluster, or an abstract take on the Ammi flower's radiating structure. Asymmetric composition, generous negative space, editorial and refined.
Please avoid: cursive/script fonts, symmetric flower wreaths, dense/cluttered floral illustrations, anything rustic, farmhouse, boho, cottagecore, or "country kitsch," pastel shabby-chic looks, clip-art style florals.
Technical requirements:
Must work as a single flat color (for foil stamping and debossing on packaging, and for a wax-seal-style stamp)
Must stay legible at small sizes (hang tags, packaging tape, social media icon)
Please provide both a combination mark (icon + "AMMI ATELIER" wordmark) and a standalone icon that works alone
Should work on cream/ivory backgrounds and on Cosmos Burgundy #8A1818 (with a reversed white version)
Think: the logo of a boutique botanical design house that could sit next to a high-end fashion or fragrance brand — not a small-town flower shop sign.
Target Market(s)
Target audience: Primarily women of aesthetic sophistication, based in or visiting Aspen, Colorado — affluent, design-conscious, and drawn to objects with story and provenance rather than mass-market goods. They buy for exceptional gifts, events, or to elevate a space, and they care who made it and how. Men are an equally valued segment, mainly as gift-givers. Extended/B2B audience: corporate gifting clients (luxury brands, hotels, real estate agencies), event planners, wedding coordinators, and interior designers sourcing for clients.

Requirements
Must have
- The name "AMMI ATELIER" must appear as a wordmark (full name, not abbreviated) Cosmos Burgundy #8A1818 must be the primary/anchor color Must work as a single flat color (for foil stamping, debossing, and a wax-seal stamp — no gradients, no fine multi-color detail that would break in a monochrome print) Must stay legible at small sizes (hang tags, packaging tape, social media icon) Deliver both a combination mark (icon + wordmark) and a standalone icon that can be used alone Must work on a cream/ivory background and on solid Cosmos Burgundy #8A1818 (reversed/white version) No script or cursive fonts No symmetric flower wreaths or dense floral clusters — a single-line or minimal botanical mark only
Nice to have
- Nice to haves: Secondary accent color used sparingly (Wild Orchid #D490B8, Colorado Amber #EDBA60, or Cosmos Peach #F2A090) alongside the primary burgundy A subtle nod to the Ammi flower's umbel structure (tiny blooms radiating from one center) worked into the icon A version of the icon that could double as a wax-seal stamp design Alternate lockup for square formats (icon stacked above wordmark) for social media profile use
Should not have
- No script, cursive, or handwritten-style fonts No symmetric flower wreaths or dense, cluttered floral illustrations No rustic, farmhouse, cottagecore, or "country kitchen" visual cues No boho or shabby-chic styling No pastel-heavy or washed-out color palettes — colors should stay rich and saturated No clip-art style florals or generic stock flower icons No gradients, drop shadows, or fine multi-color detail (won't survive foil stamping or debossing) No literal wine/grape imagery (avoid confusion with an actual winery brand, despite "Burgundy" in the color name) Nothing that reads as a small-town flower shop sign or a mass-market/generic brand
