Logo Design Brief

Hutchinson's PVC Solutions is a UK manufacturer and installer of industrial PVC products, based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We design, make and fit retractable spray booths, industrial partition walls and sliding PVC curtains for factories, workshops, warehouses and engineering firms across the UK.

We are an established, growing business (15 staff) selling premium, engineered products to serious industrial buyers. We are not a cheap tarpaulin seller. Our products protect expensive processes: paint spraying, welding, dust control, temperature zoning.

The Audience

Our buyers are factory managers, operations directors, engineers and business owners in UK manufacturing, fabrication, aerospace, automotive repair and logistics. They are practical, commercially minded people who value robustness, compliance and professionalism. The logos need to look credible on a quotation, a technical data sheet, a van and a factory wall.

The Project

We have three product line logos that were created separately and do not look related:

SLIDA-CURTAIN - sliding industrial PVC curtains
TENSIONWALL - tensioned industrial partition walls
SPRAY-FLEX - retractable spray booth enclosures

We need all three redesigned as a matching family. A customer should look at any two of them and instantly know they come from the same company. Reference images of the current logos are attached.

Objectives

Create a unified visual system across all three logos: same typeface, same construction, same icon language, same layout logic.
Improve the overall design quality. The current logos look inconsistent and dated in places. We want sharp, modern, industrial.
Each product line keeps its own identity through a single accent colour or small variation, within the shared system.

Design Direction

Style: modern industrial. Clean, confident, engineered. Think tooling and equipment brands, not fashion or tech startups.
Typography: one strong sans-serif family across all three wordmarks. Bold, all caps works well for our market. Montserrat is used in our wider brand materials, but you may propose an alternative if it works harder.
Icon system: two of the current logos already use chevrons. We like the chevron as a shared device suggesting movement, retraction and sliding, which is what our products physically do. You may build the family around a refined chevron system, or propose a better unifying device, but whatever you choose must repeat consistently across all three.
Colour: our master brand colour is blue #356F89. Use this or a compatible industrial palette as the family base, then differentiate each product line with one accent colour each. Avoid rainbow effects and avoid more than two colours per logo.
Layout: each logo needs a horizontal lockup (icon + wordmark) as the primary version, plus an icon-only version that works small (favicon, embroidery, stitched labels).

What to Avoid

Italic, racing or sporty styling (the current Spray-Flex logo has this problem)
Taglines built into the logo
Gradients, drop shadows, 3D effects
Clip art spray guns, walls or curtains
Anything that looks like a software or crypto brand

Deliverables

Three logos designed as a set, presented together so we can judge them as a family
Horizontal lockup and icon-only version for each
Versions that work on white and on dark backgrounds
Final files as vector (AI or SVG), plus PNG
Colour values and font name(s) used

Notes for Designers

Please present all three logos together in your entry. We will not shortlist single-logo submissions because the whole point of this project is family consistency. Show us at least one mockup of the set in use (e.g. on a website header, data sheet or vehicle) if you can.
