Logo Design Brief

We are creating a logo for On Mission Automation, a specialized recruiting and direct-hire firm serving the industrial automation industry.

We connect automation leaders with hard-to-find engineering and technical talent, including controls engineers, robotics engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers, software specialists, commissioning professionals, and technical project leaders.

On Mission Automation will be a sister brand or specialized extension of On Mission Resources. The new logo should feel connected to the existing parent brand through a similar color palette, visual weight, and professional tone, while being distinctive enough to operate independently on its own website, social media, sales materials, and recruiting communications.

The brand should feel:

Modern, confident, precise, and technically credible
Human and relationship-driven—not cold or overly futuristic
Specialized and experienced rather than large, corporate, or impersonal
Dependable under pressure
Appropriate for both senior automation leaders and experienced engineers

We prefer a clean wordmark accompanied by a recognizable symbol. The symbol could subtly suggest connection, alignment, forward movement, systems working together, or talented people enabling complex automation—but designers should feel free to explore original concepts.

Please avoid:

Generic gears, robot heads, circuit-board brains, handshakes, puzzle pieces, or magnifying glasses
Overly literal factory illustrations
Generic AI or software-startup aesthetics
Aggressive sci-fi, neon, or “cyber” styling
Excessive gradients, tiny details, or complicated symbols
Anything that makes the company look like an automation equipment manufacturer rather than a specialized recruiting partner

The logo should remain recognizable at small sizes and work in horizontal, stacked, icon-only, full-color, black, and white formats.

Target Market(s)

Automation leaders at system integrators, line builders, technology development companies, and system-owning organizations that need specialized engineering talent to scale project capacity. The brand must also appeal to experienced controls, robotics, electrical, mechanical, software, commissioning, and project engineering professionals.

Requirements
Must have
  • A modern, professional identity communicating technical expertise, reliability, and the ability to help clients scale. The symbol should have a meaningful story behind it—not merely a decorative shape. It must reproduce clearly on websites, clothing, hard hats, sales materials, and potential building signage. The logo should be loosely connected to the existing On Mission Resources brand while remaining distinct.
Nice to have
  • A bold, memorable icon with bright color and strong contrast. We are open to symbolism involving connection, alignment, scalable capacity, forward movement, or a “springboard” that enables client growth. Initials such as OMA may be subtly incorporated if the result remains clean and original. TEKsystems, Allegis Group, Actalent, Aerotek, and Aston Carter are useful references for how related brands can share visual DNA without using identical logos.
Should not have
  • No generic gears, robot heads, circuit-board brains, factory illustrations, handshakes, magnifying glasses, or obvious stock-logo imagery. Avoid a traditional industrial-contractor appearance, overly futuristic technology-startup styling, excessive detail, and anything suggesting that the company manufactures automation equipment. Do not limit the brand visually to controls or software alone.
