Logo Design Brief

I need a logo to use for advertising. I would like a colored version and a one-color version. It will be used for business cards, signs, attire, etc. I would like it to have a sophisticated feel, yet memorable. Not boring.
I think the only tree or flower that I would incorporate into the logo would be a Pinus parviflora, or any small ornamental conifer. This would give the feel of a Japanese garden without doing a maybe overdone Japanese Maple. I attached the pictures of what tree I had in mind.
