Logo Design Brief

We’re getting started on the branding for the 2027 International Herpesvirus Workshop (IHW) and would like to request some logo concepts.

>Fort Collins, Colorado
>July 10–14, 2027

For the design, we’d love to explore ways to incorporate elements that reflect Fort Collins and Colorado, while still connecting to the scientific focus of the Workshop. Some ideas we were considering include:

>Colorado mountains, potentially inspired by Horsetooth Mountain
>A subtle representation of the herpesvirus
>Whitewater rafting or another outdoor Colorado activity
>Beer/craft brewing, as Fort Collins is well known for its craft beer scene
>A combination of these elements, if it can be incorporated in a clean and cohesive way

We’d like the logo to feel modern, professional, and visually engaging, while still being recognizable as an International Herpesvirus Workshop logo.

We’re open to your creative interpretation and would love to see a few different concepts exploring these ideas. The logo will be used across the Workshop website, program materials, mobile app, signage, promotional materials, and other conference communications, so ideally it should work well in both full-color and simplified formats.
