Logo Design Brief

Elana Fine Jewelry is a new New York-based fine jewelry brand creating modern pieces using lab-grown diamonds and gemstones. The designs combine timeless silhouettes with colored stones, interesting cuts, and unexpected combinations.
The brand philosophy is “Life is the Occasion”—jewelry should feel special and luxurious, but also be worn and enjoyed as part of everyday life.
I’m looking for a logo that feels sophisticated, modern, feminine, timeless, and distinctive, with a slightly fashion-forward point of view. I’m particularly drawn to elegant, fluid typography and wordmarks that feel custom rather than simply typed in a standard font. I like softer letterforms and script-inspired styles, as long as they remain clean, elevated, and easy to read.
I would also love to explore a secondary symbol or monogram that can stand on its own. I’m especially interested in creative interpretations of the “E” in Elana—possibly through a subtle geometric or abstract treatment. I like the idea of a mark that hints at jewelry or a gemstone without becoming an obvious or generic diamond icon.
The primary brand name is Elana, with Fine Jewelry as a smaller secondary descriptor. I like the contrast of a more expressive ELANA wordmark with a clean, minimal treatment of FINE JEWELRY underneath.
Color direction: I want the identity to feel warm and understated. My preferred palette is a soft warm cream/off-white background with very dark chocolate brown or near-black lettering. I prefer this over bright white, yellow gold, or stark black-and-gold branding. The logo should also work beautifully in a single color.
Please avoid anything that feels overly bridal, ornate, traditional, or like a conventional jewelry-store logo. I also want to avoid overly obvious diamond icons, sparkles, and decorative elements unless they are incorporated in a very subtle and original way.
The logo needs to work across the website, Instagram, jewelry boxes, packaging, cards, and other small applications. I want to give designers creative freedom and would love to see an original identity that can become recognizable as Elana Fine Jewelry over time.

Requirements
Must have
  • Sophisticated, modern, feminine, timeless, and distinctive. The logo should work in dark brown or near-black on a warm cream/off-white background and also work in one color. “Elana” should be the primary focus with “Fine Jewelry” as a much smaller descriptor. It should work across website, social media, packaging, jewelry boxes, and small applications.
Nice to have
  • A custom or ownable wordmark, potentially with a softer or fluid feel. I’d also like to explore a secondary symbol or monogram, ideally derived from the “E” in Elana. I’m open to abstract interpretations or subtle geometric as long as it feels refined and original rather than literal.
Should not have
  • Anything overly bridal, traditional, ornate, or generic. Avoid obvious diamond icons, sparkles, engagement-ring imagery, overly decorative script, bright gold-on-black branding, or anything that feels like a conventional jewelry-store logo
