Logo design brief: Buzzard Ridge

I’m looking for a distinctive logo for Buzzard Ridge, an American outdoors and lifestyle brand. The brand includes apparel, scents, a print lab, and other products, so the logo should work across labels, clothing, hats, packaging, signage, and our website.

Flexible brand system

I’d like the main BUZZARD RIDGE logo to work with a changeable line underneath it for different parts of the business, such as PRINT LAB, SCENTS, or future product lines. Please show how the logo could look with these different sub-brand names while keeping the main brand consistent.

I’d also like a simple secondary mark that could work like a branding iron logo—something recognizable on its own and suitable for stamping, engraving, or printing. Please explore a strong, simple monogram using the brand initials, such as BR (or another fitting letter combination), that pairs naturally with the main logo.

Style and feel

Create a bold, memorable mark with a vintage American road and outdoors feel. It should feel independent, rugged, welcoming, and timeless—not like a generic Western logo. Keep the artwork clean and recognizable at small sizes.

A buzzard or similar soaring bird can be part of the design, along with a simple ridge or mountain motif. I’m open to different compositions: a standalone icon, a badge, or a wordmark with a small emblem. If you use ridges, keep them balanced and symmetrical. The bird should look confident and strong, but not aggressive.

Color direction

Use a restrained, slightly weathered palette: charcoal or black, aged cream, muted brick red, warm brown, and antique gold. Small touches of dusty blue or olive are fine. Please avoid bright colors, gradients, and heavy distressing that makes the logo hard to read.

Deliverables
