What your days might look like

We’re looking for a highly strategic and innovative Senior Social Media Manager / Content Creator to join our in-house creative agency, reporting to the Head of Creative and Design. You will be at the forefront of our social media strategy, combining your expertise in social media management with your creative content creation skills. You will be responsible for growing our social media presence, creating engaging content, and driving brand awareness across multiple platforms. This hybrid role requires a deep understanding of social media best practices, creativity, and technical skills in videography.

We are deeply passionate about supporting our community of SME employers, HR professionals, payroll experts, industry partners, and employees. Our audience is core to our mission to make employment easier and more valuable for all, and you will need to demonstrate deep empathy when producing resources and campaigns for them. Experience working closely with designers and performance teams on bringing creative and bold campaigns to life will be important.

As a Senior Social Media Manager / Content Creator, you'll be responsible for:

  • Social Media Strategy: Developing and executing strategies to grow our social media presence, engage our audience, and drive brand awareness.
  • Content Creation: Creating high-quality, engaging content for various social media platforms, including written posts, images, videos, and other multimedia content.
  • Videography: Planning, shooting, directing, and editing videos for social media, ensuring high production quality and alignment with our brand values.
  • Creative Innovation: Bringing bold and innovative ideas to life, producing content that captures attention and drives engagement.
  • Best Practices: Staying up-to-date with social media best practices and emerging trends, ensuring our social media strategy remains cutting-edge.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the Video and Social team by managing projects, providing mentorship and feedback, and supporting career growth through setting objectives and conducting performance reviews.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, performance marketers, and other content creators, to produce cohesive and impactful campaigns.
  • Performance Tracking: Continuously assessing and reporting on the effectiveness of social media campaigns, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve results.
  • Community Engagement: Engaging with our online community, responding to comments and messages, and fostering a positive and active social media presence.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in social media management and content creation, with a track record of growing social media channels and driving engagement.
  • 3+ years leadership/management experience is required for this role.
  • A natural storyteller, with interest in video, digital content, and social trends - who always seeks to push boundaries, innovate, and elevate brand experiences through outstanding visual storytelling.
  • Willingness to take ownership and learn, with a flexible mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into compelling creative solutions, with a strategic mindset and a keen understanding of audience insights.
  • Motivated self-starter able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a flexible mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively asynchronously across departments and levels of the organisation.
  • Capable of thinking big picture, while also demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.

Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience in leading socially-led campaigns that have made a significant impact.
  • High proficiency in videography, including shooting, lighting, editing, and directing, with familiarity in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Operate at the intersection of creativity, data, and innovation, guiding creative output by testing new ideas, insights, and strategies, and focusing on those that prove successful.
  • A passion for creativity and innovation, with the ability to storyboard impactful narratives and produce engaging and visually appealing content.
  • Deep understanding of social media best practices, trends, and platform-specific nuances, delivering impactful creative quickly and at scale.
  • Proficiency in using social media analytics tools to measure campaign performance and derive actionable insights.
  • Experience across the full creative channel ecosystem and customer journey mapping from a creative perspective.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and engaging posts.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing principles, digital-first design, accessibility standards, and photography/videography.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and asynchronously with global teams in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Familiarity with project management and marketing operations tools like Slack, Asana, Hubspot, Canva, and Google Slides.
