This role

As an Intermediate Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll be working with our Engineering team as a founding technical member in Romania and will be instrumental in scaling our high-autonomy European engineering squad and driving our fast-growing UK and European product footprint.

Working hours: UK Business Hours Overlap (10:30 – 19:30 EEST), Monday–Friday (100% Remote, Based in Romania. Contract Type: Full-Time Individual Employment Contract / CIM via EOR).

Your key focus areas will be:

• Founding Squad Impact: Act as a founding technical anchor in Romania, establishing best engineering practices and transitioning feature ownership from international squads to accelerate European expansion.
• End-to-End Feature Ownership: Drive customer-facing HR and payroll features seamlessly from initial technical design and scoping through to automated testing and production deployment.
• Domain & Stack Mastery: Build scalable, robust features across Ruby on Rails, React / TypeScript, and .NET while navigating a complex SaaS ecosystem.
• Quality & Verification Rigour: Ensure production reliability, performance, and security through deterministic testing while dedicated DevOps teams manage cloud infrastructure.

This will include:

• Full-Stack Feature Delivery: Own the end-to-end design, scoping, and implementation of customer-facing features for new and existing SaaS HR and payroll platforms.
• Application Engineering: Build responsive front-end user interfaces in React and TypeScript alongside scalable back-end REST APIs in Ruby on Rails and .NET.
• Deterministic Testing: Write automated unit and integration tests (RSpec, Jest, Cypress, Playwright) to take complete ownership of code quality, performance, and security.
• Product Collaboration: Partner asynchronously with UK-based Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering Leads to translate abstract business requirements into maintainable software.
• AI-First Software Delivery: Leverage enterprise AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini) as a force multiplier while critically validating and testing all generated output.
• P2P Growth & Standards: Conduct constructive peer code reviews, share technical/architectural learnings, and maintain clear documentation for features.

• Product & Ownership Mindset: A proactive drive to navigate ambiguous requirements, ask critical clarifying questions, and deliver customer-centric technical solutions.
• Remote & Asynchronous Autonomy: Strong written English communication skills and comfort collaborating across distributed teams and time zones.
• Engineering Maturity & AI Literacy: A pragmatic approach to engineering and AI tooling—combining deep fundamentals with healthy skepticism to steer and validate AI-assisted development.
