The limits of your role are defined by you and your personal ambitions. The finance team is empowered to partner alongside key business stakeholders from all departments within the organization, from senior management and the executive team, to international colleagues based all over the world.

The Financial Controller is the key touch point for all financial operations across all departments across the Company. Working with the Financial Planning & Analysis team on the budgeting and forecast process and driving actionable business insights alongside the Data Team.

This role involves managing and coordinating the key functions of accounts payable, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, risk management and regulatory and statutory compliance. The Financial Controller ensures accuracy in all financial activities, providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:
  • Oversee daily financial operations including accounting, accounts payable and receivable functions, cash and FX management, monthly management reporting (incl actual vs budget analysis) and input into periodic budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Manage cashflow and capital requirements to support business operations and growth
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and statements, complying with regulatory requirements (global)
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance and streamline processes.
  • Work closely with senior management to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making
Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company’s assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal financial and tax regulations (global)
  • Coordinate and lead the internal and external audits and implement recommendations.
  • Liaise with insurance brokers and recommend appropriate insurance coverage/structures
  • Continuously identify opportunities, and implement processes, to improve overall financial processes, systems and controls within Finance and providing continuing enhancement and support to other departments
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring relevant coaching, training and development for each individual to deliver their best.
  • High quality coaching and development to direct reports and stakeholders across the business including on-the-job training and performance review processes
  • Establish and maintain financial controls with the accounting team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, debt providers, international service providers, auditors and banks
Strategic Financial Projects:
  • Participate in strategic planning and execution of projects.
  • Support strategic investment initiatives by providing financial insights and due diligence.
  • Drive process improvements and implement financial systems that enhance efficiency.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

Experience:
  • Qualified CA/CPA accountant with a minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting/finance.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role.
Skills:
  • High energy and a drive to continuously improve processes and get things done
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational ability, managing multiple priorities and adhering to strict internal and external deadlines
  • Strong understanding of accounting, financial and tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • You are a problem solver with the ability to understand data sources and make data-based decisions
  • You are a natural and passionate people leader and coach and are able to see the potential in people
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
