Role Summary:
In this role, you will lead the implementation of the Company’s regulatory program in the Americas, liaising with business units across the Company, regulators and industry stakeholders and collaborating with the European regulatory function to maintain a comprehensive view of the regulatory requirements impacting the Company’s business.
Job Scope/Supervision:
This role will report to the SVP, Legal to address regulatory matters in the Americas in collaboration with the European regulatory function. This role will work with a global team based in the US and across Europe. This is an individual contributor role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and connect across the business on regulatory matters impacting the Company
- Analyze applicable local, state and federal laws
- Review, organize, and implement processes relating to applicable regulations on behalf of the Legal team
- Track regulatory developments impacting the Company’s business
- Liaise with internal stakeholders such as product, sales, operations, finance and product to ensure compliance with regulations
- Oversee and implement trainings as needed on key regulations, with support from the in-house Training team
- Act as a compliance champion across the business, supporting education around policies, processes, and procedures
- Support compliance with key regulatory requirements
- Work in tandem with the ESG team on matters of governance and sustainability
- Prepare and edit legal documents, regulatory filings, project plans, and internal policies & procedures
- Learn about and advise as needed on issues including privacy and data protection, corporate law, employment law, litigation/dispute resolution, and intellectual property as they relate to regulatory requirements
- Manage work in a timely and efficient manner
- Proactively multitask, manage priorities, resolve conflicts and meet timelines for multiple projects
- Act ethically and responsibly at all times and with all dealings with colleagues and with third parties
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited school of law and member in good standing with a state bar
- 4+ years’ experience in the area of telecommunications
- Experience working at a law firm, in house, or in government
- Knowledge of state/local and federal telecommunications laws and regulations
- Ability to develop and implement a regulatory compliance framework
- Familiarity with legal procedures and regulations
- Flexibility, team player, and a “can-do” attitude
- Experience managing a high volume of requests and balancing competing deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Skill with the Microsoft Office suite and enthusiasm for learning new technology
Hours/Travel/Shift:
Standard work week. Travel is minimal and is generally planned in advance.
