Role Summary:
Responsible for global corporate income tax matters including preparation/review of ASC 740 income tax accounting, global tax compliance, tax forecasting, tax account reconciliations, and other tax related projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare/review the quarterly and annual global income tax provisions and assist with audit for financial statement purposes
Maintain internal controls for income taxes in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley guidelines
Manage and support outside service providers to prepare, review, and file U.S. federal, state, and foreign income tax compliance, including estimated tax payments and extensions
Proactively manage the due date calendar to ensure that deliverables are received timely and that filing deadlines are met
Manage and lead a team of junior professionals
Respond to tax notices and manage income tax related audits
Oversight of transfer pricing calculations and journal entries
Collaborate with other functions to maintain tax budget, accurate tax accruals, and meet tax related monthly close deadlines and certifications
Monitor tax accounting rules and income tax laws to proactively identify issues and propose resolutions
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, advance degree or CPA preferred
- 5-7 years of related experience in Big 4 public accounting, and/or multinational corporate tax departments
- Hands on experience with Oracle and OneSource
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740, corporate taxation, and US GAAP accounting principles
- Management experience leading a team, including tax technical skill development
- A focus on value creation and a passion for tax
- Ability to process information through a strategic lens and apply advanced principles in designing and developing new processes.
- Telecom experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters to non-tax and non-legal professionals
- Advanced Excel and automation skills required
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
