Keep only the job description details required for job requisitions. *2nd Line Application Support/Developer Role Summary: The Sales Systems & Service Desk team within Business Applications provides user support for GTT employees across many business applications and is also responsible for development, vendor and partner management across GTT’s main sales systems. The role of 2nd Line Support Engineer/IT Developer is to provide 2nd line support, system administration and elements of software development for applications that support the business segment within GTT. Job Scope/Supervision: To provide support and system administration through various applications. The role interacts with various engineers and developers as well as leadership. Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and diagnose existing problems with platform applications. Suggest improvements to procedures and infrastructure where possible. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs. Support the Business Applications Service Desk team in the resolution of more complex applications issues when raised by the business. Provide administrative support to the Senior IT Applications Developers including updating issues logs, testing bug fixes, updating documentation and conducting data entry. Keep the knowledge base updated to the highest standard always. Provide ad-hoc support to Business Applications projects Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies. Work with business users and Business Applications business analysts to assist in the design and development of change requests for the supported applications. Design and develop requested system changes given a high-level set of requirements. Provide prototypes, mock-ups, and test environments throughout the development lifecycle to ensure that user requirements are being delivered in line with their expectations. *Business Intelligence Developer Role Summary: The BusinessObjects team is responsible for building and support the company-wide Business Intelligence and reporting solutions through developments and enhancements to BI applications and data transformation services. Job Scope/Supervision: As part of daily activities, you will be required to maintain regular contact with a variety of internal teams including Account Management, Customer Success, Sales Operations, Service Delivery, Assurance and Finance. Duties and Responsibilities: • Building, testing and modifying the BO semantic layer (universes). • Ongoing support of SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.x/4.x Business Intelligence. • Data Warehouse/Operational Data Store/Data marts design. • ETL development for BOBJ data warehouse and performance optimisation. • Support and train users. • Build reports, dashboards and other data visualisations. * Database Technology Consultant Role Summary: A challenging and fulfilling modern DBA role that appeals to individuals with a passion for database technology and are equally comfortable in managing traditional RDBMS databases and distributed, saleable big data stores. Reporting into the Database Technology Consultancy Manager the Database Technology Consultant will be responsible for providing technical expertise in order to satisfy our customer’s database administration requirements. The role focuses on delivering database consultancy including pre-sales, design and implementation for database solutions across many traditional and modern database products. A particular focus will be on growing the existing services portfolio to include new database technologies. There will be a requirement from time to time to deliver day to day support for Customer database environments. Job Scope/Supervision: We are expanding our highly successful Database Technology Consultancy team, working out of GTT’s Technical Services Centre of Excellence, with a particular focus on improving the services we offer to customers and expanding the portfolio of database services. The team provides a highly rewarding and challenging experience for the Database Technology Consultant, providing customer consulting and new product development services across our platforms. The team work closely with our Global client base to deliver a wide range of Services including presales, technical consultancy and support. Duties and Responsibilities: • Providing database consultancy for new and existing customers including remote and on-site consultancy as determined by the Database Technology Consultancy Manager. • Work with product team to bring new data products into the existing product portfolio. • Provide support for Sales/Presales/ Solutions. • Support for Sales/Presales client discussions at GTT offices or customer location. • Create workplan and estimate for Database Scope of Works. • Qualification of day-to-day consultancy requirements. • Being part of a support team resolving incident “tickets” for our global client base. • Be part of an on call support rota for 24/7 customer support. • Adhere to team processes and the direction of the Database Services Manager. *Secure Hosting Services Consultant Role Summary: A challenging and fulfilling modern technology role that appeals to individuals with a passion for hosting and technology. Reporting into the Application Services Manager, network and hosting engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the support of both hardware and software solutions. Primarily Cisco, Microsoft Windows, VMware, and NetApp solutions. There is also a requirement to provide support to presales on occasion. Job Scope/Supervision: The team work closely with our high value customer base to deliver a wide range of services including secure hosting and networking and Microsoft application services. Reporting into Manager, Secure Platform and Services. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance customer hosting environments to fulfil strict standards for compliance. Maintain and enhance GTT owned customer facing platforms. Identifying improvements and advising on best practice. Technical owner hosted customer environments from hardware to applications. Support for Sales/Presales – discuss and design projects and implement within secure platforms. Customer Support Being part of a support team providing resolution for our client base. Manage 3rd party vendor support as required. Be part of an On Call support rota for 24/7 customer support. Adhere to team processes and the direction of the Application Services Manager. *Senior Systems Engineer Job Scope/Supervision: Reports to Manager, Systems, Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage and monitor all installed operating systems and infrastructure (Windows and Linux) • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes • Maintain security, backup (NetBackup), and redundancy strategies • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support •Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution *Hybrid Cloud Engineer Role Summary: This role is a very wide combination of different technical skills and customer focus skills with the goal to support incidents and implement customer change requests within the given SLA, working with the highest possible level of quality in a very hybrid cloud environment of a primary European institution. The complexity of support will vary from more simple tasks in the customer datacentre to several more complex where candidate needs to understand deeply the customer solution. Part of this role is to communicate effectively by phone or email; to confirm incident or change closure/completion or during the troubleshooting and implementation of the task. Duties and Responsibilities: Implement manage and maintain virtual and cloud platforms Implement manage and maintain complex non-standard storage environments Provide Level 2/3 Support of customer solutions and platforms Manage and maintain backup systems functionalities Perform administration of Windows and Linux for customer hosting solutions, mainly focused on performing requested changes and incident troubleshooting Testing of proposed changes on customer Hosting solutions and subsequent implementation of changes Prompt identification of issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality. Pro-active diagnoses and fix of technical issues arising during provision of, and changes to, complex Hosting solutions. Pro-active escalation, follow-through, and liaison with appropriate departments to resolve technical issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality. Creation of contingency plans to minimize such risks. Work in cooperation with other engineering teams deploying and developing new platforms. Assist in maintaining operational and customer technical documents, processes, and work instructions. Perform technical audits as required to verify customer and platform standards requirements are met and maintained. Perform on-going performance tuning, resource optimization and capacity management as required. Actively participate in technical discussions and maintains a high profile providing expert advice as needed
