Job Summary

This position is responsible to lead and coordinate personnel and workflow of a department or function within a distribution center. In addition, this position maintains effective communication with internal customers, and external suppliers. Responsible for performing inbound/outbound movements and activities of materials by following Standard procedures/instructions of our distribution services. This includes the physical movement and electronic tracking of materials, in collaboration with other departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the work of a distribution team or function to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing finished goods, including pharmaceutical products. Monitor and adjust workflow to ensure daily goals are achieved.

  • Understand and meet customer demand through daily communication with the customer service team to discuss priorities and resolve questions or concerns with orders.

  • Ensure employees are properly trained to complete assigned tasks. Work with other Group Leads to facilitate cross training activities.

  • Develop a strong and confident team that understands the concept of continuous improvement and takes ownership of safety, quality, service, cost, and culture.

  • Monitor inventory levels against ‘days on hand’ requirements through effective communication with corporate planning team.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained though adherence to the corporate cycle count program.

  • Ensure the timely delivery and departure of finished goods shipments through effective daily communication with carriers.

  • Utilize an ERP system to manage and track finished goods inventories and complete transactions associated with movement of the inventory.

  • Obtain OSHA certification to safely operate powered industrial equipment to move material and load and unload trucks.

  • May lead a kitting operation. Ensures kitting jobs are created to meet inventory level demand; organize and close jobs (liaise with quality);

  • May coordinate international shipments through contracted freight forwarders. Liaise with trade compliance to ensure proper documentation on all international shipments.

  • In partnership with the quality representative, may monitor and coordinate the sterilization quarantine process. Upon release, assign finished good location.

  • Isolate, define and eliminate root causes for inventory inaccuracies and backorders. Implement mistake-proof solutions to prevent future problems for the same cause.

  • Coordinate the NCE process to identify, quarantine, and disposition non-conforming materials. Close all non-conforming events (NCE) within 30 days.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by completing daily housekeeping requirements. Complete all related paperwork and documentation.

  • Consult on the development of new, and revision of existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

  • As requested by the supervisor or manager, may be asked to participate in interviewing and selection of associates, to provide performance feedback on team members, and/or to provide information and recommendations related to team issues and concerns.

  • Immediately escalates performance issues and violations of company policy, procedure, and guidelines to site leadership to be addressed.

  • Comply with all ISO 14001 requirements.

  • Comply with internal environmental management system requirements, as applicable.

  • Complies with all applicable regulations and company procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • 3 years of related working experience

  • Working efficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel)

  • Working experience using computerized inventory control or distribution programs, such as (but not limited to) Oracle EBS, SAP, Precision, etc.

  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks and lifts.

  • Experience leading and coordinating a team.
