Job Details
This position will have responsibility for establishing policy and procedures for the global procurement of materials & services and is responsible for establishing and maintaining best practice strategic global procurement to maximize the value of Haemonetics’ supply base. This role is “process owner” for Haemonetics’ global purchasing and supplier performance, initiating and managing projects to reduce overall procurement costs and improving overall supplier performance. Responsible for identifying and mitigating business risk within global supplier base, establishing mutually beneficial business relationships with strategic company-wide suppliers, ensuring global procurement personnel have the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage supplier relationships, and driving cost reductions to meet or exceed corporate objectives.
Complete a strategic analysis of Haemonetics’ procurement function identifying a long range strategy for global sourcing.
- Define strategy for supplier contracts; create guidelines for when a contract is required, develop standard contracts that can be applied globally and establish a contract monitoring process.
- Develop and execute global strategies and contracts to manage the Company’s spend in the key direct and indirect areas.
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the company and stay connected to their individual business needs and strategies.
- Ensure Global procurement cost saving goals are achieved per AOP.
- Ensure there is a Strategic process in place for each step of supplier development, from: ‘prospecting’, quality/ability rating, price/terms negotiation, standard contract, to approval, etc. Document process and standards for all supplier contracts.
- Implement robust supplier selection processes and when it is appropriate to have single source, single supplier with multiple sources and multi-supplier strategies.
- Improve national and international procurement strategies, which meet quality requirements and optimize cost savings, delivery and services, and guarantee supply assurance. Identify and mitigate supplier and sourcing risks and challenges effectively to further decrease supply costs. Develop and execute supplier qualification process to assure quality products and services to mitigate supply risk.
- Lead the corporate procurement council to develop strategic sourcing strategies which will deliver quality materials/services, on time at competitive prices to maximize value for Haemonetics. Facilitate global procurement communication and shared learning. Identify and produce opportunities for savings, and maintain a joint-purchasing platform for suppliers’ negotiation involving multiple locations, leveraging combined purchasing power and/or economies of scale.
- Lead the development and direction of category sourcing plans and programs.
- Leverage the Oracle ERP system and procurement applications to automate the tactical, enable the strategic, and integrate the supply chain to drive optimal financial results and best practices. This strategy will drive efficiencies and cost reductions across the global enterprise. Develop and implement optimization programs to leverage enterprise systems, Oracle, Agile and potentially new software solutions, to reduce internal costs of supplier management.
- Network with other companies and professional trade organizations to identify successful Best Practice approaches that can be implemented.
- Organize and build a procurement function capable of managing a global supply chain network. Develop and execute measures aligned with the development of people skills to enhance the abilities of procurement personnel to successfully implement procurement strategies and category spend management. Identify internal global procurement training gaps, as well as development opportunities, and ensure appropriate training is identified and completed.
- Oversee procurement metrics (KPI’s) in conjunction with all Manufacturing procurement groups, manage and measure supplier performance to meet Haemonetics needs per agreed to terms and metrics. Ensure the development, documentation and implementation of standardized processes that support monitoring supplier performance.
- Refine the Procurement organization’s infrastructure incorporating policies, procedures and processes and ensuring they are maintained and adhered to in accordance with Company quality systems, policies and guidelines.
- Work with global cross functional teams involving Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales/Marketing, to take a lead role in negotiating key supply contracts.
