Job Details

Responsible to develop and implement changes to product design and/or to the manufacturing process to achieve significant quality, efficiency or cost improvements. This requires participation in new product development programs, identifying design-for-manufacturability issues and ensuring these issues are addressed prior to release, including:

Essential Duties

  • Complete time studies, revise line layouts, and implement selective automation to improve efficiency
  • Develop and gain approvals for all test protocols
  • Develop corrective actions to resolve issues and implement changes
  • Follow up to ensure problem is resolved
  • Generate all the required documentation (Drawings and BOM’s, Manufacturing Instructions, Visual Aids, Standing Instructions, PM’s, Costing, Implementation Analysis ) required to submit an Engineering Change Order
  • Implement changes and complete operator training
  • Implement changes to Manufacturing upon ECO approval
  • May lead small scope projects under the direction and supervision of manager
  • Perform or facilitate all the required testing as specified in the protocol
  • Responsible for documentation and implementation of approved changes
  • Review and analyze and document test results in a test report
  • Review and chart customer and in process defect data and identify highest frequency and most critical failure modes
  • Review assembly processes for opportunities to improve efficiency and throughput

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree: Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Industrial or relevant degree) - Required

Experience

1 year: Experience in manufacturing environment - Required

Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion
  • Demonstrated written communication skills
  • Training or certification in Lean Manufacturing
  • Training or certification in Six Sigma
  • Intermediate English skills - reading, writing, and verbal
  • Familiar with computer programs such as Excel and Word. Ability to learn new applications such as database programs.

Physical Demands

☑ Sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

☑ Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

☑ Lifting/moving up to 10 pounds.

☑ Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or moderate noise levels.

Travel Expectations: Minimal 0-10%
