Job Details
Assist in Technician duties in other departments on an as needed basis if emergency arises.
Develop and fabricate any new fixturing required for the department as well as modifications to existing equipment.
Expected to handle equipment/fixturing projects from start to finish, including initiating contact with vendors to review equipment problems and determine proper repairs or improvements to equipment and interacting with other departments such as Engineering and Purchasing to complete the project.
Handle equipment calibration including both compliance of existing equipment and specifying calibration for new equipment. Ensure all equipment is on the calibration system.
Purchase and maintain an inventory of spare parts for all equipment.
Responsible for complying with all GMP’s, SOP’s, MI’s and SI’s during the course of his work.
Responsible for support in completion of engineering evaluations, qualifications, protocols, validations and department projects. This includes the initiation of plans, developing protocols, completion of testing, analysis of data/results and publishing of results.
Responsible for verifying that any repairs and/or improvements perform properly and product produced meets specification. This can be accomplished through detailed protocols. The Technician is expected to complete the testing necessary for this verification process.
Review safety issues regarding all equipment and fixturing. Recommend and implement improvements to ensure a safe workplace. Ensure all new equipment has proper safety guarding.
Specify and document user instructions for all equipment in the department(s).
Specify, perform and document all Preventive Maintenance procedures for the department(s).
Take a lead role in investigating potential areas for quality and efficiency improvements. Areas such as new/modified fixturing and new/modified equipment are to be focused on.
Take the lead role in reducing and preventing machine downtime through PM, machine improvements and equipment upgrades available by vendors.
Train machine operators on the equipment so that all normal operating steps can be performed by the operator.
Trouble shoots and repairs all machinery used in production. Develop process adjustments when required to aid production.
Education Level
H.S. Diploma Or equivalent. Required
Associate's Degree Associates Degree, Apprenticeship, or Technical Certification. Preferred

3 years Relevant experience. Required

Promotes information sharing. Working knowledge of pneumatic and electrical systems.
Excellent collaboration and team building skills. Ability to utilize a wide variety of measuring instruments.
Ability to drive multiple activities to successful completion. Able to read and understand part prints and basic geometric tolerancing.
Demonstrates a high commitment to quality. Familiarity with machining lathes and Bridgeport milling machines.
Possesses strong technical aptitude. Skill level with Lathes and Bridgeport’s will be assessed prior to being allowed to operate equipment. If demonstrated skills are not sufficient to operate the equipment safely and independently, a minimum of 4 hours of training per machine is required. Following training, a determination will be made as to whether additional training or oversight is required.
