We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our centralised coding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further a career in clinical coding, with structured training, mentoring and hands-on experience in an acute hospital environment.

This role is ideal for candidates who have completed a Diploma of Clinical Coding or equivalent and are ready to hit the ground running. This is a hybrid role, with on-site presence at Mulgrave Private or our Glen Waverley office. Part time and full time positions available.

About the role

Under the guidance of experienced Clinical Coding Educators and auditors you will:

• Expand your ability to accurately assign ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS codes from clinical documentation

• Assist with coding of inpatient episodes from various sites as skills and competency develop

• Develop an understanding of activity-based funding, DRG assignment and private health funding models

• Participate in education, and ongoing competency development

• Work collaboratively with clinicians, CDI staff and Health Information teams

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong interest in clinical coding with a recognised clinical coding qualification

• Demonstrates high attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Is organised, reliable and eager to learn

• Has good written and verbal communication skills

• Is comfortable working with scanned or paper medical records and data systems

Highly desirable (but not essential):

• Clinical coding experience

• Background in healthcare, health administration or medical records

• Understanding of private hospital funding
