Senior Clinical Coder - Full-time

Healthe Care Group, one of Australia's leading private hospital operators, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Coder/s to join our Central Coast team.

Join a passionate and forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering clinical coding best practice and working together to support organisational goals.

Working closely with the National Health Information Management and Revenue Assurance team and NSW State Lead HIM, you will play a pivotal role in helping support a team of Clinical Coders based at Gosford Private. You will also liaise closely with our entire coding workforce, as we have successfully moved to a centralised coding service. Using your sound clinical coding experience in a wide range of casemix, you will mentor the team whilst promoting a supportive and inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities:

· Accurate Coding: Code episodes of care using ICD-10-AM, ACHI, Australian Coding Standards, and relevant local, national, and internal guidelines.

· Timely Completion: Ensure all records are coded within specified timeframes to support our operational and reporting needs.

· Compliance: Uphold strict compliance with all reporting and coding standards, contributing to the high quality of our service delivery.

· Internal Audits: Actively participate in internal audits, ensuring our coding remains of the highest standard.

· Clinical Documentation: Analyse clinical documentation for each inpatient episode and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure completeness and accuracy.

· Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow clinical coders, clinical and administrative staff to meet our coding targets and ensure efficient workflows.

About You:

· Hold a Bachelor of Health Information Management, Certificate IV in Clinical Classification, or a Diploma of Clinical Coding.

· Experience coding using ICD-10-AM 13th edition in a variety of casemix

· Comfortable navigating new IT platforms, patient administration systems, and working within a scanned and paper record environment.

· Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals in a large, evolving organisation.

· Open to feedback, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results and maintaining productivity.

· Must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for this position.
