Join our private hospital group, supporting the delivery of health fund initiatives across New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

  • Work on improving the experience and outcomes of patients in private hospitals.

  • Drive the implementation and commercial outcomes from strategic initiatives relating to model of care

  • Drive 'real world' change by working with health fund and revenue team, hospital teams, and clinicians to drive strategic projects.

  • Support the commercial sustainability of private hospitals and take a strategic lens on reshaping how care is delivered in the future.

Primary responsibilities

Strategy

  • Develop a ‘product approach’ to no-gap services, by first mapping out current pathways, identifying barriers (hospital, specialists, patients) to taking up ‘no-gap’ services and developing sustainable propositions that improve demand for no-gap services.

  • Develop volume and commercial targets for no-gap services.

  • Identify, assess and recommend services suitable for inclusion in no gap programs.

  • Work with the National Health Funds Contract Manager to resolve funding barriers and consider options which optimise performance.

Operations

  • Review and optimise current operations of no-gap services across existing hospitals.

  • Drive the rollout of new no-gap programs across hospitals, including in relation to facilitating agreements between funds and medical specialists, ensuring the hospital understands its obligations and patient pathways.

  • Establish robust reporting of no-gap services performance, including in relation to the expected and actual performance on volumes, revenues and margins, across sites. Where gaps exist, working with sites to understand drivers and improve commercial performance.

  • Work with no gap partners and the Healthe Care Business Development team to develop medical specialist and patient ‘pitch decks’.

  • Work with Marketing to drive shifts in marketing plans, in line with the strategic vision and approach.

Commercial

  • Set up governance for reviewing and driving no-gap commercial and operational performance.

  • Regular reporting of key performance metrics.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of commercial drivers within the healthcare and private hospital environment

  • Ability to analyse complex operational and financial information and present insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proactive and strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management (hospital teams, medical specialists, operations, business development and no gap partners)

  • Strong project coordination and implementation capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently

  • Understanding of healthcare funding models.

  • Structured problem-solving and communication skills

Experience

  • A strategic skill set with commercial and execution experience in healthcare

  • Worked in private hospitals or health funds, with an understanding of health fund contract arrangements and strategic initiatives

  • Strong experience managing and influencing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.

  • Demonstrated track record of taking initiative, identifying opportunities and continuously driving workstreams and projects forward.

  • Experience in performance reporting, financial analysis, governance processes and operational improvement initiatives would be highly regarded.
