About the role

Applications are invited for the position of Social Worker at Lingard Private Hospital. The successful applicant will assist patients, their families and caregivers through the provision of information, advice, advocacy, services and appropriate referrals. This role is predominantly based within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), and acute surgical and medical wards, supporting patients with complex and often critical care needs. Experience and/or interest in work with veterans would also be beneficial.

Essential criteria

• Post graduate Social Work experience in either the acute or subacute sectors

• Highly developed interpersonal skills

• Excellent written / verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multi-disciplinary team and across health care sectors

• Patient focus approach to health service delivery including sensitivity to the needs of Veterans as well as patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
