The Product Management Specialist will provide technical expertise through requirements analysis, sales and product support and installation and maintenance of our software products. Assists the product management staff in positioning our network solutions to meet customer needs and preparing product requirements for the development and implementation of customer applications and enhancements. Will drive the success of network solutions through their sustaining lifecycle, working directly with R&D to lead the product evolution. Provides follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information. Ensures that the solutions are functioning according to specifications.

  • Assist development of the product roadmap, lifecycle and priorities for Itron’s OpenWay network solutions.
  • Provides technical support for Itron’s sales team and customers for the OpenWay Headend software.
  • Provides technical responses for sales proposals.
  • Conducts pre-sales product presentations and customer demonstrations.
  • Provides product specific training.
  • Creates and updates necessary technical literature, solution collateral, application papers and application specific training.
  • Provides competitive product analysis and market research.
  • Leads a product team to drive solution enhancements with the R&D team

Travels as needed to support tradeshows and assist our sales force

Experience: Requires no professional experience - Entry point for college graduate

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Technical background in communication networks and software development
  • An understanding of business fundamentals to build and manage a business case
  • Passion to own a solution through the product lifecycle
  • Ability to focus and provide attention to detail
  • Competitive, self-motivated, ability to quickly learn and apply technical knowledge


Travel: 1 - 10%
